its all good and nice to see all these supposed features, but at the same time they will bring the price tag of the PS3 to somewhere like 399.99 while sony is still losing money. dont be surprised many of these features are simply just a "shock and awe" tactic from sony to make everyone think the ps3 is a super computer, then they drop feature one after one. and after the launch they might even take more features away. firewire ports are standard on all computers, yet Sony took it out of the later ps2 models, granted its not widely used but it's an example of what sony is willing to do in order to save manufacturing costs.

i'm excited with both X360 and PS3, but just wait and see how different will the launch specs be with the current speculated set. i for one am laughing at that chart about the Floating point calculations. If that were true, why are we using Intel Pentiums? Why aren't we getting PCs with their cell technology?

PS1 was bad. PS2 was bad. i didnt hear many xbox dvd drive dying, neither did the gamecube.

sony should get their crap straight with PS3

I know what your saying Gshock, especially about the floating point numbers. Remember the 80 million poly number from PS2? All number should come with an asterisk. While the 2 TFlop sounds impressive, thats most likely not under realworld conditions. As for the feature set of the PS3/360/Revolution, I don't expect them to stray too far, if any from what was stated at the press conference. Perhaps further down the line as Sony discovers that some features are not being used as extensively as planned will they remove features/alter the console. But thats just the standard business practice of minimizing loses.

all these companies, sony, MS nintendo should at least MAKE A GAME that look like their initial system launch demos BEFORE killing the system and go on making the next gen.

If i might add, the only one time that I was really amazed during the actual lifespan of a system was Donkey Kong Country for SNES. now there's your Killer App right there. GT4 isn't it. Halo 2 wasn't it. They still look nice but still crappier than the initial prototype/demos. Like someone on theprevious pages said, that FF8 real time dance scene was done supposedly on PS2, I have not seen one PS2 game to do that in real time.

LOL, just kidding, sort of! Way too early to say, but being a tech geek, I think Sony has the better tech. They sure need it being 2nd out the gate. All I gotta say is Nintendo better hire that kid who made the ON video, because they might need something crazy like that to compete.

Ok, just got got done watching the videos of the game footage over at Gamepot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/05/16....html?gcst=2stream_sonypress_e305.asx), and I'm am thoroughly impressed. If the games come even close to looking like the demos they ran, I'm sold. The overall stand-out was Motor Storm, featured the very last on the second video. Outstanding demo, and I hope to god the graphics and physics hold over completely to the final build. Next up is Gran Turismo 5. Not necessarily for the graphics, because they just looked like a prettied up GT4, but for the 20 cars that were on the track, and the pit crews going to work towards the end of the clip. Killzone comes next, and was damned impressive. Now that I think about it, this should've went before GT5. It was a fairly long demo, and showcased some sweet graphics, excellent physics, and what hopefully will be some sweet AI. One of your squad mates gets shot, so in order to provide some medic help, another mate hands over his rocket launcher so you can take out the flying ship while he tends to the injured. Next up was the next-gen F1 demo. Some of the physics looked a bit off, but the graphics were outstanding. Killing Day looked promising as well, although we'll see how it comes along.
