Stand it vertically, it'll help it stay cool and keep the fan speed low.

Does it matter which side?

EDIT:

Let me clarify, that sounds pretty stupid. Does it matter which side has the better airflow? Like the top or the side or the back etc.

Thnx OP.

on the ps3 front, when are they gonna release an official ir remote! Hate swapping remotes just for the stupid blu ray movies.

They have one already. http://www.nyko.com/nyko/products/?i=113# Not official, but it works and looks decent. You can also just use the IR dongle and program your learning remote to handle it.

Ive been using the usb dongle with my universal, but it fails in one large regard. Popup menu button.
Its the main way to navigate the movie menu, keeps the movie playing its great. Im sure the nyko is better than the ghetto setup i have, but without that one button, im still tied to the bluetooth remote, which works great btw, but its another friggin remote.
The nyko has a top menu button it seems, but no popup menu...

HDMI cable and Motorstorm I believe... But remember, you can place any SATA laptop drive in the PS3, unlike Xbox360... So upgrades only cost market price, not locked-in price (i.e. $100 instead of $180 for a 120GB disk...)

Oh, also I just picked mine up. There were another 4 in the back awaiting in-store pickup at the Circuit City I went to. I watched the clerk who tried to find mine. I watched her have to move the ladder several times to find the right one. Glad I ordered last night. I think a lot of these are starting to sell finally. I got it mainly for the BluRay player. I didn't even pickup a game. I will rent a few first, and then maybe get something.

I was thinking the same thing but my unit appears to get loud when playing DVD's. Maybe I'll give Sony a call, I hear they overnight replacements.

As for the Blu-Ray...I remember seeing one for like 80 bucks, was I misreading or are Blu Ray players really that expensive?

I'll assume you mean $800. Yes, BR players are very expensive. Sony's player is $750 on Amazon. The discs are $20-$30 each. Blockbuster online has a selection of about 300 BR titles.

I went to best buy and got them to price match it to circuit city ad with the free controller. It took a manager approval but that was not too hard.

Adding in the 3% rebate for business rewards zone and its a very nice deal. BB was pimping additional 2% by signing up for their BB credit card, but I will take the triple points on my sony credit card.

The amazon offer looks pretty tempting. Nothing like no sales tax... Might have to go return this..

If you have a CC credit card and use code 5707 on the financing code you get no interest until 2009.
I am broke, but really debating this with no interest.
You must pay it all off before the end or you will be hit by back interest.

Read the fine print on that 10% off coupon.

Offer excludes gaming consoles, notebook and desktop computers, Xbox 360, Panasonic Plasma TV's, Verizon, Sharper Image, Infinity, Velodyne, Bose, Polk, HP MP3 players, Apple, Kicker, MTX Thunder, Sony XBR TV's, LG, KEF, firedog, City Advantage, Outlet and Circuit City Giftcard purchase.

EDIT: I missed the post that quoted the same material. Sorry about that.

I know the local Costco just dropped their price for their bundle.

Does anyone know if the 5 free movies apply @ Costco as well?

This is very tempting.

I believe another difference w/ the 60 and the 80GB version is the 60 GB version is 100% backwards compatible w/ PS1 & 2 GAMES. The 80GB version is only 88% compatible. For what its worth......

What's Circuit City's return policy on console systems? Bought mine yesterday, hooked it up, and it's pretty cool, not sure if I want to keep it tho. I checked their site and they don't mention any restrictions regarding returning console systems. Will it be a problem if I want to return it after a few days?

Good games right now:

1.) Resistance: Fall of Man - FPS, top-selling game on the console, it set their early standard.

2.) Motorstorm - Second-highest selling game. Race with motorcycles or trucks. Dynamic environment where course changes or damage stay until the race is over.

3.) Ninja Gaiden Sigma - Remake of the Xbox classic. New playable character, new bosses. You can play the free demo and see if you like it before buying\renting it.

4.) Virtua Fighter 5 - Not my favorite game, but follows the VF tradition of solid fighting games.

Lair comes out August 14th. Features immersive 1080p gameplay. Ride a dragon and fight ground and air enemies. Looks very interesting and different than your average game.
