If I am smoking in the wrong place, tell me politely, I'll move. I've moved in restaraunts (in the smoking section) because of kids and what not being in the smoking area (non-smoking was *really* full), I'll move for other people too. I don't care how bad it is for me, or someone else, or that so and so that is related to you in some way died because of cancer. Sorry, but I don't care. You don't smoke? Great. Good for you. I envy you. But I still do not care what you think, what your story is, or what you have to say. So stop polluting the air, and STFU.

so keep smoking your only helping the insurance company make money.
that and there's nothing more fun than watching you talk through mechanical voice box.

less expensive for you to die early???? Pay you for another 30 years???? I have insurance, and it doesn't pay my family anything until I die. The sooner I die, the sooner my family gets the money. If I die tomorrow, I'll have paid a few hundred dollars for insurance, but my family will receive several hundred thousand from the insurance company... If I die when I'm 100 years old, my insurance company will have made a fortune from my premiums.

I'm guessing your fiancee's father isn't thinking about hiring you as the new actuary for the insurance company. I'm not sure which type of insurance you're talking about.... You'd probably LOWER the rates for smokers, since they're better customers! (IYHO) but,

Health insurance: someone ELSE pays the insurance company... insurance company pays your medical expenses. Smoker's medical expenses are higher. Therefore, it costs the insurance company more money. If someone doesn't get sick or go to the doctor, most of the money paid for insurance is profit for the insurance company. Once you're dead, no more medical expenses, but then again, no one's paying for health insurance either.

Life insurance: Insurance company and you are gambling on when you die. If you die at the average age, the insurance company breaks even (well, they make some profit). If you live longer than average, the insurance company makes more money from you. If you die early, as you likely will if you smoke, the insurance company loses money. i.e. You start paying about 300 per year for 100,000 in coverage. If you die in 10 years, the insurance company will have collected $3000, plus whatever interest they make on your payments. That's a big loss (and why it costs more for insurance if you smoke) (btw, if you smoke, that 100,000 in coverage will cost closer to 800 per year)

You don't want to be in a smoke filled environment, don't GO to one.
Simple as that.

Sorry, legislation like these smoking bans, and the recent lawsuit to ban the sale of OREOS to kids, is just a HUGE case of overregulation.

NO ONE who works at a smoke friendly place is forced to work there, or forced to be in their line of work.
You don't like loud music, don't go to a concert. You don't like hockey, don't go to a hockey game.
You don't like smoke, don't go to a bar.

But why should the owner of a private establishment get to choose what kinds of activities he allows in his place?

people need to worry more about themselves and their own actions, than me and my actions.

With your post you have proven what an idiot you are. So no need argue about that. But what you seem to miss is the fact that if you smoke around me you are affecting me. Thus when I worry about myself, your smoking around me comes into my thoughts. I don't care if you smoke in your own home/car but when you blow your smoke in my face it bothers me. So if I want to say something I will. Smoking should be banned in ALL public places. With maybe a few exceptions here and there.

if i blow smoke in your face, you can bet it is the prelude to me kicking the living shlt out of you because you bother me.
as for banning smoking in public, remember i own the public space too. how about we make a few places here and there in public smoke-free instead?

i dunno what you just said. the only thing that bothers me about smokers is when they dont give a sh!t and blow smoke right in your face, sometimes you can tell its on purpose. I dont give a rat's ass if you smoke on my own property, just dont blow it in my face and throw your butt on the ground like a retard.

Is simple annoyance enough to pass bans now?

Would you mind if I crapped on your lawn? Or how bout if I pee'd on your dog? Maybe if I paid some big fat nasty naked guy a few bucks to round circles around you? Sure its not HURTING you, but its still an annoyance. One that shouldn't be allowed. And on top of all that we still don't know that second hand smoke doesn't hurt anyone. Until you prove that it doesnt, then I will maintain that it does. Afterall we used to know the world was flat, until it was proved to be round. So from now on prove the world isn't round, and Ill believe its flat. Until then, the burden of proof is still on you.

go ahead and tresspass on my property to crap on my lawn, that is what my guns are for.
go ahead and pee on my dog, bet you don't try that one twice. if you still have a pecker to pee with.
if your dad really needs money that bad go ahead and pay him to run around naked. just tell him to watch out for your shlt on my lawn and he better run fast to stay ahead of my "pissed" on dog...

You've just shown what an idiot you are by threatening me on an internet forum. Ok now you've got me scared, so I suppose I better back off eh? Ya, well the problem with making smoke free areas in all public places is that a restaurant for instance will just say "Hey ya this is smoke free" but across the aisle there are smokers blowing smoke toward your table. If it worked, then it would be legit. The problem is it doesn't work.

Would you mind if I crapped on your lawn?

You'd be committing vandalism and trespassing.

Or how bout if I pee'd on your dog?

Animal cruelty.

Maybe if I paid some big fat nasty naked guy a few bucks to round circles around you?

Public indecency. But I wouldn't report him, I'd just laugh at hiim.

Sure its not HURTING you, but its still an annoyance. One that shouldn't be allowed.

No, these are not annoyances. These are clear violations of private property and decency laws (I don't agree with decency laws).

And on top of all that we still don't know that second hand smoke doesn't hurt anyone. Until you prove that it doesnt, then I will maintain that it does.

Prove your posting is not causing me cancer.
Have you no logic whatsoever?

Afterall we used to know the world was flat, until it was proved to be round. So from now on prove the world isn't round, and Ill believe its flat. Until then, the burden of proof is still on you.

Again, try using logic here.

Tell me, are you aware that car and especially diesel exhaust is many, many times more carcinogenic than tobacco smoke? Are you aware that valid, irrefutable links HAVE been made between diesel exhaust fumes and cancer?

Why aren't you here protesting trucks and cars? Because that's a risk you don't much care about. You've fallen for the anti-smoking hysteria and are running with it blindly

What shocks me is that we learned NOTHING from the breast implant hysteria.

People get too worked up about all this. You non-smokers need to get off your high horses and practice what you preach. Don't do *anything* that is bad for you, no matter how good it makes you feel. You never know, it could be affecting someone else. I'll put the burden of proof on you to prove that it does not. I say we ban smoking, fast food, greesy food, meat products, non-meat animal products (edible and not edible), plant products (edible and non-edible) (I believe plants are just as sentient as animals), excercizing, breathing, speaking, scratching, screwing, making loud noises, drinking, all drugs (legal and non), music, electrical devices, and just about everything else we can think of. Pretty much everything listed here can affect someone else. If you disagree, prove me wrong.

You may be right. You can't prove a negative. Something that was just made apparent to me today. However it doesn't mean that second hand smoke doesn't cause harmful side affects either. We simply do not know. But we do know that second hand smoke is annoying. Now Im not out protesting car fumes because they don't sit next to me on a park bench. But smokers do. I do agree though that owners of private establishments should be able to make their own laws regarding their establishment.

Read my Sig.

You and all of the other smokers. Follow the same suite.
of course in your case the stick would be a ciggertte stick.

ooh Lets Classify non smokers now. I an equally think of tons of thinks that smokers do on a daily basis
You said it yourself

"Life's a big ole bitch, isn't it?"

And I would never willingly Subject myself to second hand smoke by sitting next to someone who is smoking.

And if it creates you Stress it's because you allow it to! If you hate it that much Then leave! NO one will miss you!

Cuda, there are many well funded and fanatical anti-smoking groups out there. Hundreds of studies have been done. A small, flawed minority of those studies claimed to show a connection between ETS and disease. The vast majority have not been able to make a connection. The evidence is more than in.

To say "we don't know" is bullsh!t.

Car fumes pervade a city. You cannot go anywhere in a city without being exposed to them. Car fumes are so carcinogenic, they can cause disease even when the person is not offended by the smell. Yet we accept this risk.

Thankfully, you have come to understand the importance of private property. That's a good start. Now if we could just get you to stop throwing a fit every time you smell something you don't like...

I have no complaint to those who smoke, you guys are free to kill yourselves but when you smoke around me then I have a problem.

First off, I don't smoke. So, jump to MORE conclusions based upon implications!
Second, use better english to communicate, you give away your frusturation with your insanly poor grammar and poorly thought out retorts.
Third, if you hate smoke that much, than leave! No one will miss a square like you!
