Thank you very much for replying with such a detailed and helpful post. I appreciate it much and will follow your advice. And I agree with you on the site issue. I like newegg a lot because they made it very easy for me to find what I needed, and seemed to have competetive prices on all the things I looked at, but I would never tell someone to ONLY go to newegg. Newegg prices too much for the 9700 actually so I will be going to pricewatch to check what they list. But before I must finish that history paper...

Warcon, that's nice to know. Can you do overclocking on the fly though? As in, do you need to reboot between overclocks?

Cool then...neither does nvhardpage...anyway they both do their jobs, rivatuner perhaps for those that don't want that initial jerk when the GUI is starting up, I don't really mind since my system is up 24/7 but others might.

Yeah, heres my opinion

1) Drop the 4600. If you want to save money, get the 4200 by Asus (o/c's well) and Overclock it, it will be faster than the 4600 and cheaper

2) Buy the Radeon 9700 if you have the money. Its worth it. And I wouldnt worry about O/cing yet. Wait a couple months (or longer) and then do it. Stock this card smokes every card on the market easily, and to me O/C this right now is completly useless. Its all on paper what your worried about. When the time comes, O/C it. To me keep the warranty in mind for a few months. Whats the difference playing Unreal Tourn at 240 FPS rather than 210 ? You tell me. Things look good on paper, but come on

3) I would recommend Kingston PC3200....works better than Corsair.

Thanks AMDhardcorefan, I'll probably go with the radeon 9700. Anyone know where I can see some reviews and benchmarks on memory? I couldn't find any on anandtech or tomshardware. I wanna compare corsair XMS memory to some others. Thanks.
