Our DC fort must have continuous, uninterrupted power for our crunchers.

We need wind, solar, geothermal and could we put a limoncello powered turbine in the moat somehow? Maybe an MC Escher style moat around the fort where it goes downhill (spinning the generator) and then flows back uphill to repeat the cycle?

Of course! That way we would not have to go upstairs at all --- we would go downstairs even when going up! Liz, take a look here - but you do not need to draw that much - let the architect do that ...

Hehe, we should ask some shirt printer to make a special shirt about this thread, with our fort on the front and the top poster on the pack, with a sentence like: "I was there, all the way" or "I came, saw and ignored"

Or we could do a copy of the final stats on the back.

In that case, I'll do the stats once a year, and order new t-shirts for the stat updates.

Unless we wrote it in hexadecimal in a front size of about 3. But that wouldn't be very entertaining. Well, it would be to me, but still.

Yes, we have some great ideas here, in this properly ignored thread. And to think, this thread started "please delete" and had to do with the wrong stats.

If we could only ignore it some more. The binary watch is a cool idea but you would be forever branded an uber-geek.

I'm not gonna ignore this thread. In fact I claim this thread in the name of Off Topic!

You can't claim this thread without at least having a flag!*

*(obscure Eddie Izzard reference)

Now it's back to ignoring again...

Sorry you can't do that because this thread is not "off topic". :Q

Distributed computing is about science and stats.
This thread is about stats - how often it is read, how many posts, how maný contributors ...
It is also a competition - as you may see from the stats now and then.
This thread is also about science - it is a psychologicla test of how long a post may be ignored (i.e. the time it takes for some one to react), it is also a mapping of the social interactions in this community and it is about DC - we all are distributed all over the world, and we use high powered or clustered computers to contribute.
QED.

This thread IS about science (distributed computing) and stats (the STATisticS) of ignorance.

And we have a FORT. And the fort is good. It is in Sweden and it is surrounded by a moat of limoncello that is in itself a scientific anomaly because it flows perpetually and is filled with trout.

Our fort is powered by renewable energy. The computers contained within are engaged in important computer stuff.

And we are defending against our OT brethren.
