the OP is an idiot, and for him to feel threatened by this movie only goes to show that it has a very small hint of reality......if the OP were president, he would banish this movie and nobody would ever see it because of his fears. That is inhibiting art.

This thread talks about tolerant conservatives a whole fvcking lot but if my memory serves correct, the last homosexual marriage poll we had didn't favor the homosexuals very well. Something about 'sanctity' and all that elitist bullsh!t. And this was on a supposedly "intelligent" forum as opposed to some of the other pits of the internet. So you can all wave your tolerant banner right now in defense, but some people's memory goes back longer than a couple days. The movie plays an extremist view out, but the less extreme version of that is still lurking in current society.

And yea, it doesn't need to be said again, but it is just a movie and I do plan to see it. Hell, maybe even to spite the OP because instead of reviewing the movie they decided to defend their honor against an imaginery future. I guess something must have hit a little too close to home.

Thank you for your insight. i definetely will not watch the movie in theaters. Im getting sick and tired of all these movies coming out that hide the fact that they are politcal message movies because they know no one will watch them. Lord of War is a prime example of this. I was sooo mad when I figured out where it was going. I t was made out to be a Kick @$$ war typse movie. Nope, just a movie made so they could say that America is the ones behind all death in the world. If you dont like it get the heck out of the country.

How old are you? I ask because I once thought exactly like you do. F politics, it's just a stupid game of old folks coercing people to vote for them or spend money on them. Well my friend, I wisened up a few years ago after getting out of college. Politics DOES effect you, whether you want to believe it or not. Look at the world you're growing up in: the US isn't looked upon favorably by a large portion of the people we depend upon for oil, a valuable natural resource we can't live without. A growing nation could very well rival us for top superpower in the world. Potential epidemics and devastating natural disasters crop up every few years. Choose to ignore politics and you give up any say in your future, for better or for worse.



To not completely derail - I've only seen the previews for this movie twice and never read the comics. I doubt I would have seen it before it gets shown on cable, anyway. I'll make my judgements then.

Nevermind the fact that this is based on a 20 year old story.....and nevermind the fact that the current administration is in fact as closely tied with religion as ANY recent administration has been.
