hahah,.. ill bet, like goin from a skateboard to a car at this point in time

That's sad. I've got a 6800GT.

I know. I'll be eager to unload mine when G80 arrives. 18 months is all you can expect to get out of a video card these days.

1:07 PM now, I put off ordering last night, figured I can order today and just do 2 day shipping to get it here by Friday. The suprising thing is now that I'm considering the XFX 7900GT XXX - that seems like an incredible value after reading up on it, it's only about 10 to 13 FPS behind the 1900XT & 7900GTX in most cases.

Hoping to decide within the next few hours.

Bah, XFX 7900GT XXX is about $400-420 and not even in stock anywhere, so its basically as expensive as the OEM XT1900XT I found.

I got my x1900xtx for $499 and couldn't be happier. Run the games that I play flawlessly and if the future games are shader heavy, as predicted, it should last well until I get a DX10 card at some point.

Yep. The only thing it didn't come with was a pretty box. Everything else was there.

i had the XFX 7900 GTX for one day and frankly was not impressed. I did not see the extra $200 worth of performance in games. It pretty much performs similarly to my 7800 gtx 256mb. The only thing that increased was 3dmark05 from 7860 to 10360 and i got extra 15fps in the stress test in CS:S but in battlefield 2 no gain.

Also the card i got artifacts after a while of gameplay. I returned it for a refund. I ordered a powercolor x1900xtx and will share my experience once it arrives

Wow I found a Powercolor XT1900XT for $439.99... and that's RETAIL... That's one sick deal, should I just go with that if I go the ATI route or spend extra to get the XTX?

i will be able to tell you the diff between the 7900gtx and x1900xtx as soon as it arrives. Hopefully tommorow because i did overnight shipping. Sure the 7900 gtx is a competitive card but i was not impressed with it. I hope the x1900xtx will outperform my 3month old 7800 gtx 256mb.

If you do get a 7900 gtx dont get the oced versions because there is a high chance it will artifact. I see several ppl on evga complaining how their evga superclocked 7900 gtx artifacts.

I suspect that the factory oc on my XFX 7900 gtx of 675/1700 caused the artifacts. So get a stock clocked version for cheaper and oc it yourself. Or you can wait till i get the x1900xtx so i can tell you how it is compared to my xfx 7900 gtx and 7800 gtx 256

I found a Powercolor XT1900XT 512MB for $439.99 Retail with Lifetime warranty, thinking I should jump on this, can get that and the 1GB G.Skill RAM for $532 shipped with 2 day shipping, is there ANY BETTER deal than that out there?

I don't think you will find one... There are some sweet deals on X1900's out there, and I think the X1900XT(X) will most likely suit your needs. The only real issues I have with the Radeons is that they are a bit noisy and there aren't really any good CrossFire boards out there. Other than that, the Radeons are nice cards. Even my X1800XT was an awesome card, and I don't think all the negativity surrounding that card was really deserved. If you're open either side and are only looking for a top end card, the Radeon offers a better value at the moment.

you said you're disappointed after playing how many games?!

two?

the two which heavily favors ati??? :Q

if those 2 were the games you mostly play, why didn't you go with ati to begin with?

because i was hesitant about the noise, heat, and bad drivers ati had. But id rather take that instead of nvidia now.

Yea.... a Powercolor isn't bad from what I have heard, and it has good reviews... Plus I mean $439.99 for a RETAIL VERSION? That's pretty sick.... I wanted a 1900XTX originally but not sure if there's a point in spending a extra $60, plus going to OEM from Retail, for 25MHZ on the core and 100MHz on the memory.

ATI Radeon 1900XTX --- wow. I have a Geforce 7800GT and I really want to get this card. Well, I plan on holding on to my 7800GT for at least 6 more months and hopefully by then, even better cards will be out. I plan on spending no more than $400 on a graphics card.

IMO, get whatever is cheapest.

X1900 XTX advantages - HDR+AA, widely accepted to have better IQ, more efficient when enabling AA.

7900 GTX advantages - much quieter, less power, lifetime warranties of certain distributors.

Again, I would go for whatever you can find for the best price, unless IQ or noise will sway you one way or the other.

given the low price of the x1900xt right now

it's the way to go if you're going for a single video card!

I'd get the powercolor X1900XT, it has a lifetime warranty and its cheap enough that you could get a good aftermarket cooler to quiet it down.

I went w/ the X1900XT (originally I was going w/ XFX 7900GT). I'd go with the $439 X1900XT because of just about equal performance to the 7900GTX, HQAF, and in general better IQ.
