Hey guys, i am running a Asus P2B-VT (with the Via chipset) and a P3 650 (slot1). Changing the multiplier didn't make any difference and I can't see any other jumpers on the board to increase clock speed. I looked in BIOS and didn't see anything there either? I think these boards are the ones that come in the newer HP Pavilion systems if I'm not mistaken. Does anyone have any ideas on how to overlock this 650? Any info would be greatly appreciated. By the way, i couldn't find a way (jumpers pr bios) to change the voltage... Thanks guys.

I could not find a ref to P2B-VT on the ASUS site, but did find P2B:

That board, while not the one you mentioned, looks like an OEM board which typically are not designed for o'clocking. The manual section under P2B shows manuals for a number of P2B models, however. It looks like you can set the FSB to 103 or 112 MHz, but there's no voltage adjustment. Be sure you have the latest BIOS version for whichever board you have, so it recognizes the 650 as a 650 - their P2B chart ends at 600. In any event, you cannot affect the multiplier of a P3 - it's locked at the factory, no matter what the BIOS might suggest. Some early P2's were unlocked so the BIOS may have an adjustment in it for them. .

Don't worry ... be happy. ASUS makes good products and you have a good CPU.

There is a P2V....I've never heard of the P2B-VT.

Changing the multiplier won't work as your CPU is clock locked.

Only the most recent ASUS models support changing the CPU core voltage...mainly the boards after and including the P3B-F.

To change the FSB, you need to go change jumpers on the motherboard (assuming that it is the P2V, which is very similar to the P2B as mentioned above).
