Hi. I can't seem to get the 3 computers on my home network to see each other. Two of the computers are running Win XP, and the third is running Win98SE. I'm using a NETGEAR FS105 Fast Ethernet Switch. All 3 computers are using NICS capable of 100Mbps.
Computer A - WINXP
Computer B - WINXP
Computer C - WIN98
Now, A can access shared files from B and C. However, I notice when I ping B I get an average of 500ms. B can only see A but can ping C at an average of 2500ms! C can only see A but can ping B at an average of 2000ms!
I notice that A and C have similar IPs 4.46.*.*, subnet, and gateway, but C has 4.63.*.* and a different subnet and gateway.
I made sure to deactivate the firewall from the XP computers and to enable the guest accounts. I also installed NETBUI on all machines.
Any help is appreciated!
Oops, sorry about that. I'm sharing a DSL connection to the 3 computers and the internet works fine on all of them. The IPs are automatically assigned.
