Heres the system:
Enlight 7237 Case
Asus P3V4X
p3 650 cB0@866 w/GoldenOrb
128 MB Apacer RAM(Siemens)
4 gig crappy caviar IDE drive
Acer 50x CD-ROM
VisionTek Geforce SDR
The computer boots fine into windows at 138 and 140 and once in a while at 145 FSB, have run through 3dmark at 910 but most times I get a corrupt file error. I also get a blue screen NETBIOS VXBS error and a few other driver errors(more than 140=kernel error=BAD) when windows loads the desktop, I assume the computer is having trouble loading the drivers. I also get corrupted virusscan file errors at these speeds. At 866 this has NEVER happened and the computer is rock solid. I have a HS with a fan blowing at my ICS which helped me get to 138 and be somewhat stable but at 140+ these darned corrupt files come up and noone else seems to get them. I also get a windows protection error at windows boot at 140+, but most times windows boots anywhere up to 145. I am SOOOO close to 900 MHz yet so far away. It really isnt THAT big ofa deal since the benchmarks from 910 arent that much better than 866, but 145 FSB is a different story, that's what I would love to hit. Also, my temps at these speeds seems to get at most 37-39 idle and high 40's at full load. I dont even look at the BIOS temps because it scares me Thanks for any help, I searched and I dont even think one person has described these problems, maybe someone here will have some insight. I am just hopeing someone out there has gotten these corrupt files and found the source. I have tried basically everything, turning down the speed of the RAM, tested the ram with my p2 233 and it ran at 140 perfectly fine. I have two network cards installed but I pulled them and uninstalled but I still get the same error.
