Please help me, or contribute some useful information to this thread!

I have my server that has a raid5 array and a 7 gig boot drive.

I accidentaly ghostsed the 7 gig image to the raid array (i had another 38,000 MB drive connected, my raid array is like 380,000mb, turns out the 38,000 mb drive wasnt connected.)

anyway, my whole life for the past 6 years is on that raid array, does anyone know anyway i can recover some data?

keep the flames to yourself. i dont wana hear, where was your backup. i know i made a mistake of not backing up
its not my first mistake. if we are going to point out my mistakes how about we start at, DONT GHOST YOUR 7 GIG drive TO YOUR 380 GIG array.

I don't know of any easy and cheap way, but stop using the array drives immediately. You might have to send the drives in to a specialist for data recovery $$$.

well, i have stopped using the drive, can anyone recommend a good ntfs data recovery tool?

If it's your life...where's your back-up? Chances are even if goto a data recovery specialist that they can't recover all of it since you wrote 7gb worth of data over the existing data. It's not looking good.

you should be able to recover most of your data. as to how it's done? that's not something i can answer.

its running right now, its found like 10000 files. this just may work!... ill keep ya posted.

Seriously, if you don't know the answer to a question, google it first. Odds are, someone out there has already asked it. And THEN if the search leaves you without the right info or confused, then post.

A better solution is make some back-ups if the data is so important...

i just asked if anyone knew something of the top of their head. something they have had experince with.

So your saying creating back-ups isn't useful information? I am just stating that if this data is your life then why risk it, back it up. Raid-5 is good but what happens if both hard drives die? Or if you make another mistake. Take the time to back-up to cd-r / cd-rw or the like. CDs are cheap...recreating the data you lost may also cheap...but time consuming!

Sorry if you took the posts as a flame, but some people need to learn that backing up is important. Maybe now you will back-up
