Please help or ideas needed for fellow TeAmmate RC in trouble - Lives near Dallas Texas

<P class=MsoNormal>Hello members of the online community here on Anandtech. Many of you know me and my eternal gratefulness to you all. The reason why I am writing now is I have just recently become aware of a very dire and serious situation another fellow online community member is currently experiencing. The member is RC , Roy Cain, he lives in Dallas Texas. I do not know 100% of the situation. I still do not have much details of what has happened with Roy but that is not what is important. The fact an online community member is in such serious trouble is what is important.

I am not asking for anything from any members on here. I do not know what can be done to help. All I do know is a voice can be heard in a large crowd, I heard that voice and all I can do is echo that I have heard it.

He like many, has lost his job. I do not know how that occurred but in this current economy of course no surprise. He has lost his house and is about to be forced offline and into the streets of Dallas. He said he has nowhere to go and no family members will take him in. He has been divorced by his wife and I believe that tonight is the deadline for him to vacate the house. He said the only place he can go is to a local homeless shelter there in Dallas.

Like I said all I can do ask is that members that do pray, please pray. If there are any members in the immediate Dallas area that feel compelled to help in any way that you can, please do.

My heart goes to RC, he has my prayers as well.

I don't have much to give, but if he needs a loan, I can scrape up some, and I'm sure that others here could too. Not charity, a loan. "Repayment" terms can be discussed later. much later.

I do have some relatives in Texas, about an hour East of Dallas. i could give them a call and see if they can com up with something, or know of someone with a room, or knows of any jobs available.

Anything else I can do to help, let me know.

I am not in Dallas, but I do know some people there. What kind of experience does he have? Most of the places I know are in the tech field and I don't know if they are hiring but if I had an idea of his qualifications, I would be glad to inquire.

He'd be welcome at my house, but I'm about 1800 miles away, and I.T. jobs in Washington are tough to come by as well. Seems to be a glut of geeks looking for work.

Like Dan said he wants to pull his own weight. He almost didn't say anything to anybody. I just put two and two together that Roy was the one that sold off his entire ECCP rack system for really cheap a few weeks ago. He didn't say why other then other than he could no longer keep the system going.

I am glad he mentioned a hint of the trouble he is in to Dan and I.

I'm so sorry to hear what is going on Roy. I do not know you, but I did not know David when he was in trouble. I only hope that you are able to get things sorted. The community here is great, as i'm sure you are aware, and I hope that you get sorted out soon, with or without our help. We will always be here for you if you need us.

I sit here with my jaw on the floor from reading this. I just don't know what to do or say.......RC is a great TeAmmate and I really pray that he can get through this. I'm not much in a position to help either....Kentucky doesn't have jobs worth a crap and it's very far away too. I just don't what to say.

Hang in there Roy.....something good has got to emerge from this....may not be seen until later, but you're a good person (IMO from what I know) and you'll bounce back.

I never saw this one coming. I've noticed this last few weeks that RC was selling his rack, and also the unusual number of posts in the ECCp-109 related threads.

I will definitely offer up my prayers that RC finds his way out of this and comes out smelling like a rose. I'm not far from him in his situation (divorce/lost job/car troubles)...my only saving grace (after 10 weeks of being unemployed) is I hit it BIG at the track last weekend so I got a reprieve to keep looking. Same miraculous thing happened to me 3 yrs ago when I thought I was going to lose my house then.

All those cliches about "it's always darkest before dawn" or "all's well that ends well. And if all is not well, then it's not the end" were said for a reason. They are true. And the power of prayer cannot be denied (by me, at least, as I've seen it work).

Roy, if you get access to a machine, here's a place to do a little job hunting Army Civilian Jobs . Contrary to popular belief, they don't pay that great, but it's an option. You can do a job search by region/state and also worldwide...maybe a change of scenery?

Let me begin by saying that I am very grateful and touched by the responses.

The double whammy of the downfall of Dallas's IT business sector and the ending of a 15 yr marriage with two children has taken its toll on me.

Sorry to hear about your current situation Roy. Unfortunately, I'm across the gulf in FL I'm not much help in the way of somewhere to stay. I think you've got a some great guys on the lookout for you though. Hopefully something works out soon and you're back on your feet.
