Please help or ideas needed for fellow TeAmmate RC in trouble - Lives near Dallas Texas

Latest update from Roy received this morning:

I'm now eligible to receive services from the Arkansas
MHMR office now that my brother has moved from the
Texas side of Texarkana to the Arkansas side. I had my
first appointment with the Southwest Ark MHMR last
Friday. I was not able to meet with a doctor on my
first visit but I now have a Dec. 2 appointment to
meet with a doctor. A three week wait is a big
improvement compared to the 12 month waiting list for
the Texarkana, Tex clinic.

I want to thank everyone for their support during
these troubled times.

No progress yet on finding the source of the problem
with the random rebooting of the PC I'm using, but a
PC that randonly reboots is still better than no
internet access.

Thanks for the bump Daweasel. Roy continues to work on getting back on track. He remains in contact with his children and has access to a PC also remaining in contact with DanC, RaySun2Be and I. Here is an excerpt from his last E-mail just before Thanksgiving:

This Thanksgiving there exist many reasons to give thanks.

The Dec. 2nd doctor's appointment is only a week away.

To make the most of my time during this time of
healing I plan to start an online course that will
help me in obtaining an Oracle certification and
perhaps a course to increase my knowledge of Java.

Amen, brother!

And what you've read is only the tip of the iceburg. There are people helping others behind the scenes all the time, donating PC parts, heck, even whole PCs.

While we may not be #1 in every DC project stats, this team is #1 in their compassion, caring, and willingness to help others. (And in all fairness, there are some great people on other teams that have helped Dave and Roy and others out too )

Gives me goose bumps sometimes thinking about it.

With all the craziness and hatred in the world today, it does me good to be able to point to this team and say hey, they care. And as long as there are great people like my wonderful Team Anandtech mates, I have hope for the world.

First result in google! I never knew the full story about what happened. I wasn't into distributed computing yet, and I really didn't browse the forums much at that time.

Glad to see that everything has worked out! Now I see why everyone always stresses that you get permission in writing to install SETI on computers!

Yes, even being the sole employee at the time hired to be in complete control of the machines is not enough.

Back to subject, Niether Dennis, I or Dan C have heard from Roy since Thanksgiving.

One can only hope that all is OK as can be and that maybe it was suggested to him to stay offline for a while until back on feet. Only my guess and hope. Wishes and Prayers for a better 2003 Roy.
