Is this a replacement board, or the same board (refurbished)?
Download RealTemps instead, Speedfan hasn't kept up with the technology so it doesn't work with a lot of newer boards.
Sounds like more than one problem. Is it possible the bad socket damaged the CPU? I had the same sort of sound issue, it turned out to be a bad sound card.
Hmm, there was an issue with some of the LGA 1366 sockets. I don't think that it could have damaged the processor, but you can never be sure. Can you run Memtest overnight to check for memory errors?
^ I would recommend NOT buying that set of ram.
Get something running on 1.5V and get a 2x4GB set instead of 4x4GB. Uses less power and leaves room for future upgrade. I wouldn't rely solely on the list, since they only test a few sets of ram when there are almost limitless choices on the market.
