It?s been a while since I?ve frequented P&N (scary place) so if it?s generally considered a feeding ground for irresponsible discussion (Mods included) then never mind my inquiry; just state so. But shouldn?t Moderators in general be an example of character and leadership? Or, is condescension and sarcasm the example that?s accepted in P&N? I realize it was a while ago, but I do remember a time when ATOT Mod?s were respected and P&N discussion though heated was somewhat civil. I'm not at all opposed to pointed debate and even a little name calling but these comments aren't debating a topic, they're personal jabs. I just think a Mod should be above the petty posts.

Please advise.

I just haven't been in P&N for a while and my sensitivity meter may just be set to the old days. Apparently, a lot has changed in terms of conduct, moderation etc.

while i have no problems with what red dawn said. how is it that they are always a mod when you point out wrong things they do (such as odds are the OP is going to gtet a vacation fo r this thread) or how they act but they can act like some mods do in threads?

If you knew ProJo you'd know it wasn't a personal barb, it was an accurate statement. If I were to post advice for Oprah I too would be an irrelevant clown..well more so than I already am. I also don't get to do what ever the fuck I want. For instance I can't tell you to go **** yourself, to eat a ****, to eat **** and die, etc. That would be breaking th rules are they are interpreted in P&N.

Anyway if any of you that think those post I made shoudn't be allowed in P&N please PM or Email Derek. Just keep in mind that if I can't post anything like that neither will you be able too.

I do agree with olds.

Mods are not supposed to be examples of anything be it character or leadership. We do require that they follow our rules, however. They are allowed to post with the same freedom as any member. Like wise, members are allowed to post with the same freedom as any mod they see posting as a member (unless they cross a line and I have to sanction them).

If you see any example of anyone (mod included) posting something that looks like it breaks our guidelines or forum specific rules, please post it here, PM AnandTech Moderator, or PM me.

If you complain about some post a mod made, please don't complain about the mod or talk about how mods should be an example or anything that could be considered a call out -- just link the thread, quote the problem text, and ask us to look into it. Attacking a member on the basis that they are a mod is not something we allow, but questioning a post is fine.
