Please recommend the best CDrom drive for DAE and will work with CloneCD

My current setup is an Asus 40x cdrom drive and an HP 9110. I tried ripping a number of tracks using the Asus and MusicMatch and it only ripped at 1x I tried the same Audio CD in the HP and it ripped at 10x.
Since I dont want to use my burner as a ripper, I need a recommendation for a real good CDrom or DVD drive that will rip fast and be compatible with CloneCD as well.

Something's wrong with your drive, drive setup, or software settings -- Asus 40x & 50x are 2 of the best IDE CD drives for reading DAE, and should give flawless DAE extraction at 20x on CDs unless they're beat up (scratches, etc).

Of course if you're encoding to MP3 it will be much slower, depending on settings: I was only getting about 4x rip-and-enocde speed on a celeron 400 with 192 kbps and normal processing. On a p3-933 I got 5x after stepping up to high processing.

I've read that Plextor, Yamaha, and Toshiba are also good at DAE. (My Plextor CDRW rips audio fast and with GREAT quality; I've read their CD-ROMs do also) And supposedly you can't beat a Toshiba DVD drive for copying protected CD's.

yeah i know know one that does pretty much all types of raw burning. its the TEAC. its really not bad, i like it alot, its just as user friendly as hp burnners and does alot more then them. i got the 8x8x32 which burns stuff in 6 min.

Mine too! I just tried it for the first time today with CloneCD. Worked GREAT. Left me wondering why I paid so much extra for Plextor several months ago...(well, if this one craps out in a few months then I'll know)
