I just wanted to verify something. I had the cable company (Wide Open West) install the internet in my parents house and their telling them that the cable modem that I gave them that I used with a different provider can not be used because it won?t support the speed and it won?t work right with Wide Open West network. The internet that their getting is 6mbps up 512k down, and the cable modem that I gave them, I used with Insight that supposedly was 10mb. Am I wrong, but isn?t a cable modem a cable modem, aren?t they universal. I?m pretty sure this is all BS, but I wanted to make sure before I called the company. Thanks.
