Be careful on Plextor rebates. I filed for one a short time ago and got a postcard from them yesterday saying that my rebate was "declined for the following reason(s):
*Purchase price must be at least $155 to qualify"
I checked the rebate form and it didn't say anything about a minimum purchase price in the Terms and Conditions.
How many others out there have gotten this reply?
Can you say class action suit?

I know HI-VAL is like a box of chocolates where you never know what you are going to get but I don't think there are too many manufacturers making 24x-ers so maybe it's OK. Anyone know who's making it for HI-VAL?

Also, something that is bothering me. Where did you guys buy the Plextor for less then $155.00 before this deal? A search of the forums indicates the purchase price of the retail 24/10/40 has never been less then $155.00 before and you guys claim that you received a postcard from them meaning you must have bought the drive about 2 weeks or more ago. Unless you guys found some incredibly hot deal weeks ealier and chose to keep it to yourselfs.

this deal was not for the 24x but the 16x drive.
