Bah, that's nothing....I paid over $300 for my 4x burner. Now that's alot of money for such a slow burner.

it's well worth it man. plextor is a plextor. it holds up to its name. i would take a plextor over any other cdrw out there. thats just my opinion though.

Plextor has the best customer support. My friend accidentally broke his tray and Plextor shipped him out a new one pronto. How can you beat that? There is no other brand I would think of buying.

Another friend didn't recieve his Plextor rebate in 3 months and he called them direct. They called the rebate center and he had it in less than 10 days.

That type of company never loses me as a buyer and my first burner was a 4x Yamaha scsi that nearly cost me near $500. Why Yamaha? Plextor didn't make burners back then. They do now and they have a customer for life. Btw, the Yammy is still going strong after all these years because I made it an external in it's own case.

Plextor is definitely king of cdrw's in my book.
their scsi drives are practically the best you can buy.

I'll add my 2 cents. Plextor is a great co. Thier customer service is excellent. In the past, they had the best performing burners. However, Lite-On beats them in performance and price now. It depends on what you want.

I have right now 2-40x Lite-Ons and 1-24x Plextor. Another postive thing about Plextor is thier resale value.

You guys might be right on customer service, there must be some place where this extra money goes except for the pockets of stock holders and company management. The test are showing you that Teac and Lite On are smoking Plextor big time.
If you don't mind buying customer service for the price of CDRW you can easily buy some of those service plans and that will still be cheaper than Plextor alone.

What resale value? In 6 months they are half a price, in a year a quarter for what you payed. In two years you can fetch $10 maybe.
You want resale value, buy a house.

Reale value as in when u fricking fleabay it. You get much more for Plextor than a Lite-On. Everyone knows that!
