Plextor's rebate page appears to be missing.

In case anybody is looking for comparrison, I have the benq1620, and the Plextor px-716a. I burned the same home-movie to both on 16x Verbatim +r media at 16x speed. The plextor pi/po scan showed the sum 8 test as avg PIF .04 on the benq, and .06 on the plextor.
The sum1 test had both at .00 avg pif, with a max pif of 3 for both drives. Both drives provide extremely high quality high speed burns.

thx, just picked it up and it's sitting right besides me. Had to replace the dying/dead sony dvd burner since it was making clicky noises whenever I put in a disk.

The website says sold out but is in stock in store. The $10 off $100 seems to be only for online purchases. Will I be able to print that coupon out for an in store purchase?

Nope. The $10 off $100 coupon is for online purchases ONLY.

Regarding the $10 of $100 coupon, it states that it is not to be used with other offers. Would that include rebate offers?

It seems that the $10 coupon applies to online purchases.
Does that include online purchases to be picked-up at the store?

This is a megasmoking deal. Everything I've read puts Plextor and Plextools overall as head and shoulders above the rest.

Thanks

We'll see. I printed out a copy of the order receipt and it didn't note the 10$ off coupon, it just shows the discounted price. It should be ok.

So how can I order online if its sold out but it is in stock in-store? I want to do an In-store pickup, but since it is out of stock online, I'm screwed?

I can't add this my my cart since the website says SOLD OUT. If I click "select preferred store availability" it shows it in stock at my local BB. So there is no way to place an online order for an out of stock website item, even though it IS available in store.

Is everyone else seeing it as being out of stock? Is there a way around this? I want the extra $10 off. Will these be back in stock before 3/31?

That's odd, I bought a TV once for store pickup that showed out of stock but it still let you buy it for in store pickup. I don't see any way to do that now. All it does is tell you that the item is supposedly available for in store pickup.

Theoretically, you could go back to bestbuy.com and sign in.

Then use the 10% off link in the first post.

Go back to the page with the drive

paste this into the address field of your browser:

javascript:fnAddItemToCartWithAccessories('1099391138596','6801641')

Hit ENTER

Use in-store pickup

But it's only theoretical.

I picked mine up tonight at the store after ordering online. Weird thing is, Best Buy didn't print out a rebate from the register. I thought they did this in the past. Cool deal. Thanks again for posting it. Now I just have to remember to send this off within the next day before the Plextor rebate expires.

I'm in Massachusetts.

In my BB Sunday circular, it is listed as $99.99 AFTER a $30 rebate.

Using the Plextor rebate would make it $70 after both rebates.

I'm all over this for $46 but not for $70.

Why do you think the price of this and of the NEC models are coming down?

Is there a new laser beam technology coming out this summer that could drive these prices lower?

I'm in MA also. The circular is separate from the online sale where the Plextor is on sale for $116.99 before the $30 BB rebate. Thus, for buying online with in-store pick-up you get $10 off, $30 BB rebate and $30 Plextor rebate for $46. I was able to get one before they sold out and picked it up at the Landmark BB.

OOS online.

Buying online for instore pickup says to click store pickup and select a store near you that has it instock.

Two stores near me have it in stock.

The stores are listed and permanently chosen as my "preferred stores".

I can select either store for a map and directions but there's no way to choose to pickup at either store or to add the item to my carriage.

The website says the $10 will automatically be deducted from your total.

On chubby wallet, someone claims you have to sign in and then go back to the $10 offer page.

there's always new tech coming out, lightscribe, blu-ray, hd-dvds. The problem is, there isn't much media. I don't see many people using dual layered media yet for burning purposes since it costs so much (last time I checked it was $7-10/disk). Right now dvd+r/dvd-r's are at the sweet spot for price/disk (below a dollar/disk sometimes even free) and the fastest dvd burners are around ~50. I just jumped on this one because plextors are good all around except in price. And because the price after rebate is the same as an NEC/benq might as well get a plextor.

While on the item page, copy paste the exact text below on the address bar.

javascript:fnAddItemToCartWithAccessories('1091099798424','6801641')

This will add the item to the cart ... then just select the "pickup at store" option.

Works fine (at least with IE) ... I just did it.
