Lightscribe is something that's not so much going to replace, but intergrate with current laser technology. I don't see DVD burner prices dropping because of Blu-Ray, it's too far off. People tend to write off Lightscribe, but HP has a lot of companies on the roster who will be incoperating it into their future drives. It does have potential, and only drives up the price of the burner 5 or so bucks. Once the media is wide spread, and HP has advanced the speed, woo! If you don't want a Lightscribe drive, you can pick up a regular 16x DL for cheaper, since companies are going to be switching over to Lightscribe.
So, this is going to be a win win situation for the consumer.
