Plextor CDRW/DVD any good?

I have been waiting for long time to get plextor CDRW/DVD. Anyone if this drive any good???

I know that Plextors are the best, I have them. But since it is there first DVD drive, I wanted to make sure it is good.

My plextor combo has been working fine, only regrets is that the faster samsung combo drive came out only a short time after the plextor.

Plextor makes good quality drives, if grossly overpriced. You do get some assurance of quality, as with all "branded" components, but you could probably make do with a cheaper drive that'll work almost as good, if not as good.

Plextor is like the tank of the drive world, there may be some with more features, more speed, but few have the problem-free life of a Plextor.

Also many drives are setup in ways that don't allow them to work in duplication farms. Almost all Plextor drives can be used in duplicators.

I just wish Plextor started pushing the SCSI envelope again.

are you sure? I'm still using my old 12x Plextor SCSI CDRW. Rock solid!!!

I installed the Plextor DVD/CD-RW combo and love it, fast audio extract rate and it also supports vari rec II which is good for high quality audio burning. DVD use is great too, no hiccups like my old Poineer DVD drive.

The only problem I have with the Plextor combo drive is that there's no region free hack for it yet , other than that it's a great drive.
