24nm Toshiba Toggle NAND, faster than Sync or Async NAND, Marvell controller, 5-year warranty like Intel drives, what's not to like about this drive?

Also, I believe it is currently cheaper than the equivalent m4 drive.

Edit: Says it includes disk cloning software.

Same Marvell controller. Very similar performance profile. IMO they are interchangeable - if you bought one and someone swapped it out w/o you knowing, you would NEVER know the difference based on performance even if you benched them.

Don't the Plextor M3 have 5 year warranties?

Oh I can tell easily between a HD and the intel ssd. We use the ssd at work and doing little things like stating 100,000 files (ls -alR) is tons faster with a ssd

Heh, as soon as this hits $1/GB I'll consider buying one. Right now I'm thinking... but I'll hold off. I still have surplus SSDs, but all of my higher capacity SSDs are older models (Indilinx Barefoot). While solid, performance isn't that great compared to newer drives.

Yeah for my personal use I'm happy with the 2 Intels in my sig. Not as fast as current generation, but reliable and plenty fast enough. With prices falling like this, however, pretty much every system that I've built lately involves the buyer demanding one.

As for those wondering about the quality of these drives, I've had nothing but positive experience, and I've used 3 so far and this will be my 4th (this one is larger than the previous 128s that I've used). Plextor's optical drives had a great rep back in the day (I still fondly remember my 8x CD burner from 1998), so I've been willing to give them the benefit of the doubt so far.
