Basically, this drive is very similar to the Corsair Performance Pro 256GB, which is to say it's very, very good. The only difference appears to be the use of less costly 24nm NAND.

I have the Performance Pro and it's great. You can read plenty of reviews of it around the web. If the Plextor is anywhere near the same performance, it's a great deal for $300.

I have a Dell PC with only SATA II connections, will I notice any "real-world" difference in performance vs SATA III if I purchase this product ?

I use the pc for coding is VS2010 and gaming.

I have the 128 model and it works great. I'd say this is a good deal for a solid product.

Hmmm, probably why the write speeds are kind of low on this even compared to other Marvell controller SSDs.

Darn, now I want one for my Dell Vostro V131 notebook... except I already have a 256GB SSD in there. It uses an original Indilinx Barefoot controller and is a few years old, but paid off long time ago.
