Plug and Play in BIOS

I was digging around in my BIOS and realized it's set to "Non Plug and Play OS" - which is the default setting. I've used Win98SE, Win2k, and am now using WinXP and I don't think any of the problems I've encountered using Windows are directly related to this setting, so I think it's safe to keep it. However, would setting it to Plug and Play OS change or improve anything (like improve stability)?

With non-fully-ACPI-compliant (but fully-Plug-and-Play-compliant) Windows OSes like Windows Me, it's recommended that you set the "PnP OS Installed" feature in the BIOS set at "On" or "Plug and Play OS". But for OSes that are both ACPI- and Plug-and-Play-compliant, such as Windows 2000 and Windows XP, Microsoft recommends leaving the "PnP OS Installed" feature set to "Off" or "Non Plug and Play OS" unless the BIOS has another selectable feature called "ACPI-compatible OS" that you can switch on or off. In the Win2K/XP case, you should leave the ACPI feature - if available - set to "On" unless you have trouble getting some of your PCI cards to work properly.
