I would like to know if there are any good sites that have valuable information for Chemistry 1 in High School.

Info such as Periodic Table, Atomic Mass, Quantum Energy (find it very confusing), atomic orbitals (those s, p, d, f sublevel orbits? etc...).

Anything that will improve in Chemistry 1. (aka Beginner Chemistry).

I really need to build my understanding of the subject.

That is true, referring to the textbook - I have read it many times.

But sometimes the textbook does not explain it too well or not at all.

In addition, i just want to sharpen Chem skill.

aahhh yes, chemistry. My book from 14 years ago forgot this addendum:

10 parts BEER + 3 parts CHALUPA = 13 parts mysterious brown substance conceived in a violent chemical reaction

And when it's contained, it's pain.

Chemistry is definitely suck! I feel for ya man. Orbitals and quantum energy are totally useless to most people.

As far as books, when I had to take Chem at OSU last year we had to buy a study guide with the book. From what I heard it had a very helpful CD that explained everything well and showed good animations and such. Here is some info about it, you may want to look into it:

Chemistry : The Central Science, Media Companion / With CD-ROM
Author: Brown, Theodore L. / LeMay, H. Eugene / Bursten, Bruce E.
ISBN: 0130845175
Publisher: Prentice Hall, Incorporated
New: $22.00
Used: $16.50

note: the prices are from one of the bookstores at OSU. Try this link to check it out, or go to a book search site and search with the ISBN. BestBookBuys.com has many sites offering it for sale, some as low as $13.00 used.

Get beyond the books and try some of the modeling kits you can buy. Being able to see things, build your own molecules, etc., hands on, helps wonders. Of course, nowadays, I'm sure they have video clips and such which may be as effective as the models.
