nope, the previous deals were for the PNI RX5000. This is the RX2000. Not sure how many differences there are though.

I don't see RX2000 in PNI website, does anyone know what is the different between RX5000 and RX2000?

I couldn't find any reviews on the RX2000, but I did find some on the RX5000 and it seems to get a lot of false alarms. Also got very low scores at Radartest.com

Since the RX5000 lists for more, I would assume it's their higher end model. Not sure if any of this is helpfull, but that's all I could find on it.

I got the RX5000 in one of the other deals. Is it a V1? No. But then again it doesn't have a V1 pricetag either. The compass works great, false alarms are extremely few, and it always sees the cops. I imagine the RX2000 is similar, so I just bought one for my GF. At only $20, it's a great deal, IMO.

This one has a different compass. The RX5000 has a digital display that shows your heading to five degrees and direction. The 2000 gas a compass rose with 8 cardinal points that light up. Probably cheaper to make.

A review for the PNI RX2000 found on amazon.com:

"RX2000-Okay, but to many false alarms., December 28, 2001

Reviewer: An electronics fan from New Bern, NC
It seems that in picking a radar detector, one is picking the brand's characteristics as much as the actual model. So, I thought my experience with the PNI RX2000 could help someone. I received one as a gift for Christmas 2001, but returned it after several days of use. The compass and detector "worked fine". But, for me it gave to many audio false alarms. To give you an idea what I mean by that.....I was replacing a mid-90s Uniden. The Uniden, on city mode, never gave audio false alarms. On my old Uniden, the city mode turns the sound off except when it receives a very strong signal. But, it kept the visual on in city mode. That is what I was looking for. It was perfect. When driving around town, if I wanted to see what it was picking up at any particular time I could glance over. If I wasn't paying attention it only "beeped" me when it was "sure" there was a cop around. This PNI RX2000 in city mode was beeping too often even when it was reading a 1 or 2 (out of 4) signal strength. I don't want to know hear a beep for every grocery store I pass. It gives so many false audio signals that you either have to start ignoring them (which defeats the whole purpose of having one of these things) or constantly look over to see what the signal strength is. If you want it for highway driving it is probably fine. But, I returned it. I'll keep my Uniden taped up and running until I can find another Uniden."

For $23.00 (including shipping), it's not bad...Just ordered me one and besides...I just plan on using it on the highway anyway. Hopefully, I won't get pulled over with it!

for $20, I can't kick. I'm only going to use it for highway driving and I don't speed much anyway. It'll work until I get the money for a Valentine 1. Thanks for the link.

Eh, maybe if they offered free shipping for this item it'd be worth the risk, but all the reviews that I've read, and they're hard to come by, haven't been that great. Better off paying a few extra bucks for a reliable anti-falsing unit.

Thanks for the link...I missed the chance last time on the 5000, but for 20 bucks, false alarms are better than no alarms, IMO.
