$89.99 - $70 McAfee Rebate - $10 PNY Rebate = $9.99 + $4.44 = $14.43

Not so sure how I feel about the +McAfee part but getting the SSD for $14 AR is a pretty sweet deal.

Mind the wording on the page though, says Limit 2 for the rebate but if you check the rebates themselves it's limit 1 for the McAfee so won't be getting that pricing for more than 1 unit.

And if that much storage isn't enough for you:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...OCZ-102558187M

$124.99 - $70 McAfee Rebate - $20 OCZ Rebate = $34.99 + $4.44 = $39.43

Pretty good deal for the storage assuming these rebates go through (at the time of writing this I can't get the McAfee rebate to load).

Also worth noting on the McAfee rebate is the following:

2. To qualify for this rebate you must:
• Install McAfee Multi Access. (Instructions Below in Special Instructions)
• Enroll in the Auto Renewal feature. (Valid credit card required)
• Stay enrolled in the Auto Renewal feature for the first 10 months of the subscription.

So how much are those 10 months going to cost you - what is the total cost ?

They don't cost you any additional. They are hoping that you forget to remove auto-renew and they get to ding you for another year.

Only for the bold. Rebates arrive in the usual time-frame, several weeks, from what I've read. Similar to the Total Defense bundles @Tiger last year. Used a rebate award debit card to register the software and made a note to cancel auto renewal after the rebates arrive.

As alaricljs points out, they hope you forget to cancel auto-renew, or even better, fail to mail the rebates.

Friends don't let friends McAfee Rebate.

This.

Looks like a hot deal, but when you factor in the hassle of mcafee stuff and needing to provide them with a credit card, install the garbage software on a virtual machine, then remembering to cancel after 10 months. Just too much risk of hassles.

10 months just greatly increases the likelihood that you'll forget about unfortunately. At least with traditional rebates if you get after them your task is usually done until the check arrives.

There have been deals like this with the massive mcafee rebate with ram and other things for awhile now. It would be interesting to hear from people who tried them.

I've had no issues with the ones I've been filing the past year with them. While I was hesitant about the McAfee personally, it's done through 4myrebates which I've filed quite a lot of rebates through without any issues. So at least it's a good rebate processing company, to each his own; I bit on the deal but I understand people's reluctance for huge rebate deals with a company that historically had problems with them.

Yeah TD was the absolute worst. Lately some people have got them I think. I still don't trust them though.

Thanks for the info on how hard it would be to get the MacAfee rebate. I will pass.

Yeah TD has slipped a bit again for rebates. The last 2 yrs I had one that was an absolute debacle. But you can research for yourself. They have this phony-baloney "rebate assurance" policy that is complete hogwash. You contact them and they tell you to piss off. It's like they are trying to fool you that it is independent. It's the same damn terrible company.

The issue with this one isn't so much TigerDirect, but McAfee. You have to run McAfee somehow for 10 months and then remember to cancel a subscription after that point in order to successfully make this worthwhile. They're banking on you not remembering to cancel.

On top of that, it's McAfee. Do you really want that crap on your system?

The last two McAfee rebates ($60 & $70) came through for me. I did not install the software. Of course, I'm on the hook to make sure I remember to cancel two months before each subscription is up for renewal.

You didn't have to install it? That's a game-changer. I thought you had to install it and activate/register it online so they know you've installed it in order to get your money.

And, for the umpteenth time, people, TD rebates are now handled by 4myrebate, not TD. You'll get your money as long as you jump through all the hoops.

I never had any problem with TigerDirect rebate. I think they are the best in dealing with rebate. However, I will never buy anything like this.

Nope. I didn't even have to install the software. Go to the specified link to enter in the product key code and once it generates a download link, ignore it and go into your account and make sure that Auto-Renewal for the product is toggled to "ON". It should automatically send you a Auto-Renewal Update Confirmation email that you can submit with the rebate form.

I didn't buy items from tigerdirect until a few years ago generally so I don't know how their rebates used to be. I've bought a lot of items recently using them with rebates through 4myrebate and I believe I've received every rebate. It took a few weeks longer than suggested by the confirmation email but I even got my $80 rebate from that 16GB PNY ram deal back in December.

The only reason I really buy from them is there don't seem to be many deals from anyone else these days and even tigerdirect only their AR items are worth buying. But I have had no issues. I bought a video card that was a warm deal recently, but I used 2 rebates, a general TD coupon code and shoprunner free shipping. A lot of work for a warm deal!
