The picture @ the Best Buy web site is not accurate at all. My memory has only 8 chips instead of 9 chips. I believe this is not ECC.

This is the last time I ever shop at Best Buy, listen to my tale of woe.

Ok so I order 3 of these sticks right not looking at the rebate form, so I dont realize you can only get the rebate for one.

Right so place order, goes through fine, then I look at the rebate form and realize you can only get the rebate for 1.

I scramble to the order page and look for a cancel button like most decent online retailers have, none at www.bestbuy.com.
So I call them up on the phone, and it doesnt even cross my mind that there could be a problem, its Sunday, no packages go out right.
Well I talk to the Rep on the phone give her the order number to cancel, and she tells me its got to a certain point in the order process and she can't cancel it.

What? Its Sunday this is utterly ridiculous! It's not shipped at this point. So I call back up and give a manager a piece of my mind, like talking to a brick wall. So I'm screwed i'm getting 3 pieces and I cant cancel.

What a shaft job, I bet they say this to everyone who tries to cancel because some Accountant figured out Best Buy could make an extra $10 mil a year if they don't let people cancel.

I got one, it has Hyundai chips HY5DU28822T-H chips. The store (austin, south) had lots, but many of the others looked like some joker had already given them an instal. This is the only one that did not look handled. With PNY at the store you can see the chips in the package.

Just went down and picked myself up a few sticks, I got two addresses so its going to be fine. Well the stick that I got is Samsung chips on a Samsung board. So what can I say but Great! Thanks for the info. Chip Part # K4H280838C-TCB0 also made in Korea.

Got mine, although store clerk acted like he didn't know what i was talking about. Then, he acted "surprised" at the great deal, followed by "you could sell those on Ebay for $20. I wonder how many of these are snagged by empoyees.

Got 2 sticks and rebate reciepts for each one, the guy I had was attempting to hide the stash they had about 20, he pretended not to see them anywhere til I pointed it to him.

None of you guys have mentioned that PNY has bundled this memory with "System Mechanic" software, included in the package. I think its full version, not a trial, but I'm not 100% sure on that. "System Mechanic" retails for $60, and Ebays for $30+. So you can actually make money on this PNY deal, and keep the memory, if you end up selling the "System Mechanic" software. I'm sure you can sell if fast if you list in your local classifieds for $15-$20.

First ordered online for BestBuy in-store pickup, to make sure I had another chance to get it since I had to go to CompUSA first. By the time the BestBuy online ordering confirmations get emailed back to me - I've already left for my Sunday "making-the-rounds". After spending 45 minutes at CompUSA searching for rebates that they didn't have posted on the board, I got over to BB and found the 128MB DDR memory - rang up the same as online - so $5 is a hotdeal! Now to cancel that online order....

Good luck, you obviously didnt read my post. After you order at BestBuy.com the box is magically packed and shipped .05 nanoseconds after you order it, rendering it uncancellable, on a Sunday when UPS doesnt even ship no less, its quite a feat.

BB is famous for this crap. I ordered a 2.4ghz phone from them. They let me know the next day that it was back ordered... I tried to call and cancel the order and they said the same crap to me about it being too late to cancel. The crazy part was that it never did come back in stock and they cancelled the order about 2 weeks later. I think their CSR's must get paid by how many orders they don't cancel! :disgust:
