The horse is dead, its a bloody pulp. Stop beating it please and let this thread die. Ugh... yes some got good cards and some not so good. All of them weren't bad, but enough were to make people question PNYs quality control on this batch of cards. Lets move on with our lives, shall we?

Riding in on a bloodied pony....

Just some FYI in case anybody else wanted to give it a try.

I called Newegg and complained that these were not retail cards. They agreed to take $35 off my order for 2 cards, better than a sharp stick in the eye I guess.

They offered to take $25 off one of my single cards, but i take that PNY carp for even that much.

so technically if you read my previouse post on a page to the left or so, you would have gotten at least $50 off for 2 cards.

How can you complain about them not being retail cards when they were sold as OEM cards? Now if you mean they should have been listed as refurbished I agree 100%. But I refuse to buy newegg's refurb video cards anymore also. I have tried 2 and gotten bad cards, however newegg refunded all of my money (minus the shipping of course). You gotta admit, their service is A+.

OEM doesnt mean Refurbished.... OEM is sapost to be Brand New, exactly like retail.... except without the retail Box, and sometimes without Retail accessories like the Manuall.... But the hardware itself must be Retail condition.... were as these cards are in Refurbished condition.

The OEM and Retail versions on Newegg came in the same unlabled white box anyway. so weather you ordered it OEM or Retail from newegg you recieved the same 'saposidly new' item.

The 6800le (not to be confused with the Limited Edition 6800 that evga released a while back) uses the same core, but only has 8 pixel pipes and 4 vertex shaders enabled. It is also clocked at 300core/700mem. Using rivatuner, you can possibly unlock up to 16 total pixel pipes and 6 total vertex shaders. I bought a 6800le and unlocked 16/5 (the last vertex shader was bad and caused artifacts in 3d programs). Also replaced the stock cooler with a Zalman currently the card is clocked at 370/770. I get >10k 3d03 and >4K 3d05. The rest of my system is Athlon XP-M 2400 @ 2.2Ghz, 1gig PC3200 Corsair Value Select. Not bad for a budget card if u can unlock it.
