I'm assuming you are asking about Amazon. Amazon price matching is only against their own prices. But, they have provided refunds to me after a product went on sale, started a new rebate, or went to free shipping. I'm extremely happy with Amazon's refund/price matching so far. I doubt that they would refund you based on the pre-rebate price if the total after-rebate cost is actually higher.

Technically Amazon isn't losing the $40, right? So their price is $150, in a month the price drops to $125, they'd refund me, right? Just need an extra push to get over this hill I suppose

Well I went ahead and ordered one.

I'd been waiting for the 8800GT 512Mb to come down a bit more. Of course, now I have 4 brand new video cards to get rid of.

I have 2 of the BFG 8500GT 256Mb and
I have 2 of the PNY 8600GTS 256Mb cards

I had managed to stay out of the gaming market for this exact reason (never ending upgrades) but I have Bioshock on the way and I want to run it full bore and this 9600GT better do that or I'm gonna be pissed.

Of course, I guess the thing to do is to not open the package and see what the 8800's do over the next few weeks. Amazon will refund 100% for unopened items. Cost me about $8 to ship it back.

I use a 7900gs right now, seems that if you don't use AA AF then I can play pretty much eveything (Assasin's Creed//CoD4//COHOF etc) at 1280x1000. So I guess not in a hurry to upgrade that to 9600GT yet. But the one game I have no chance playing is Crysis, it's play like 5 FPS if I turn on enough eye candy, but that game is all eye candy if you can't turn up quality it look pretty ugly. But that one game don't seem like much reason to upgrade right now. Only game I will upgrade for is the StarCraft II, if I can't play it then I'm getting a 9600GT/8800GT the week after it comes out. I bet in a few months I get a 9800GT even.

wow that amazon deal is awesome.

Ya, I caved ...

Me to, this is by FAR the sweet spot for bang for the buck...I received my $40 MIR check from PNY yesterday for the recent deal on the PNY 8800GT for $159.99 through Amazon so couldn't resist That is by FAR the fast MIR check turn-around-time I've ever experienced. It took less than 2 weeks from the day I mailed the submittal before I actually received my check!

Couldn't resist I jumped on the Amazon deal. 150.99 - 40 rebate good through 4/18. Jump on this! Free shipping! Funny thing tho is Amazon shows it shipping on 4/21 even though it is "in stock". What gives?

Can't believe I paid $220 a year ago for my X1950XT which is a hunk of crap, now a year later I'm paying 1/2 as much for ALOT more video card.

I was stiffed on the rebate by PNY on the purchase of a 6800 awhile back. I won't buy from them again.

Just picked one up....I had a 8600GTS through them that was rebated very quickly which made me more open to purchasing from them again. Make sure to register the card on their website to get the free additional 2-year warranty (3yr total).

Same here. 3 weeks from mailing to check arriving. I had a hard time figuring out what the check was for as I didn't expect it for months!

Hope this rebate is just as fast.

I'm loving my 9600GT SLI setup, picked up 2 a couple weeks ago for $125 and $128 AR. Bioshock at 1920x1200 w/ 2xAA on my new 24inch is a sight to behold

Thanks, OP and Binky. I went for the Amazon card as I still had some gift certificate balance from the $10 coinstar thing (yes, long since expired ^^;.

In for 1. Thx op and to who linked the amazon deal as thats the one I picked up. I was really holding out for a 8800gt but everything is built and am waiting for price drops however this will work fine as well I suppose and for the price I cant complain. I was locked once I saw those 9600gt SLI numbers. I wish the IP35pro was still on sale for $99 and I had not got the IP35-E. Oh well I suppose I can wait for another decent SLI board deal. and then ditch the IP35-E. Anyone know what kind of Power you need to run 2 of these in SLI. I got a Neopower 500w right now.

Mine said it would ship on the 17th (ordered Friday afternoon 11th), but I got an email that it shipped today. I've noticed Amazon do that on past orders too. You'll probably get it faster than you think...

I got in on this too. Great card. Running 725/1812/1950 with auto fan control, never gets above 65C load w/ ATITool, 58C w/ Crysis. I can play Crysis @ 1440x900 with a mix of medium and high settings (you want at least the shaders set to high as that gives the best image quality of all the settings.) Getting ~35-45 FPS. Good enough for me!

BTW, I signed up for the Amazon Prime trial. I got the card the next day w/ free 2 day shipping!

The card is a bit long, but I have an Ultra Microfly (kinda like the shuttle or Qpack) and it does fit. And this card is cool and quiet. My case never hits over 60c. Averages 50 something with a good load. Stays in high 20s to low 30s with idle or casual web browsing.
