Well, it looks like they are messing with us. I think they are changing ETA around and taking it off in order to garner more pre-orders. I am going to cancel this order.

I just gave them a call and cancelled my order. At this point I am going to avoid buying a PNY card... The gainward card looks nice and will hopefully be availible soon.

there could be two explanations - most likely is that they're only going to get their first shipment on 8/16 and start shipping to the people waiting in the pre-order queue. The other explanation could be that maybe they really did get a shipment just now, which corresponds to their previous 7/30 estimate, and they are starting to ship units to customers from that batch. But since all of them are already allocated, the website shows eta 8/15 for new orders, which means that any order placed now will get fullfilled from the 8/15 shipment. But seriously, this is far fetched, most likely no one will get their card from future-power-pc before 8/15, and possibly much later.

Ok I just called to verify my order and they dont have any in stock... ETA is Aug 16. I cancelled my order.

geez its getting impossible to find this guy for my new computer I am builiding... only piece remaining.

Isn't that what I've been telling you all along ? Read my previous posts in this thread. Right now, to get something that is actually in stock, it look like you have to pay at least 450, but if you use a price-matching credit card (like amex starwood card, and some chase platinum credit cards), you can order from some of the stores which have it in stock (compuplus.com or spacecentersystems.com) and price-match it to dry's $399 printed ad (which means that the credit card company will give you the difference back). I don't have a price matching credit card, nor do I have a frys anywhere near me, so that deal is impossible for me, and I would guess most of us.

I'm just trying to help the people that do have such a credit card, and I don't think you need to be close to fry's, you just need a dated printed ad from any store in the whole country to pricematch. All you need to do is go to your local book store and open a computer magazine, and search the ads in there, you're bound to find many stores (no matter how small or unknown) advertise this card for $399 or less. Regarding fry's, you don't need a local fry's, you just need to get a hold of an ad by fry's (i'm not sure if they will accept a non-original or photocopied ad). And one more tip: if you're a serious bargain hunter, you should get a price-matching credit card - see hotdealz.com for details.

I checked it out. The card that has price guarantee has an annual fee after the first year. I won't use it nearly enough to justify an annual fee.

Ok I'm getting confused with reading some of these posts about how there aren't any in stock. I got in on this fairly early last night when they said availabe and ready to ship, and just a few hours ago I recieved the following email from them

So does this mean they do have some in stock and will be shipping it soon? Or would they be sending me this message knowing there won't be any in stock for 2+ weeks?

Acutally I would wait a while before pricematching, because the prices will fall.
THis way you can get a lot more money back on the pricematch.

I have the American Express Costco card.. do you know if they pricematch on that one... I cant find the info.

the other thing is how quickly do they refund the difference and finally which place has it in stock... I cant find any place at any price!

I hear ya. I keep getting messed with. Now at this point outpost has an autorization on my card that they say they took off, and my banks says they have to take off. So I cant buy anything until they do

Has anyone else that ordered a 6800 GT from FuturePowerPC.com noticed a charge for it on the credit card? I checked my credit card balance online last night and there's a charge for my order even though they haven't shipped it.

It might be a hold rather than a charge... thats what my account seems to reflect...

My account reflects a charge, unless my card company (Citibank) did something funky on their end. Normally I don't see any holds / authorizations on my CC account.

Well I chatted with a FuturePowerPC.com CSR thru their website live chat. The rep told me my credit card was charged because they were processing my order so it would ship as soon they get stock of the PNY 6800 GTs. Sounds like BS excuse to me. In any case, I'll leave my order alone for now since my credit card billing cycle doesn't end till the 20th of the month. But if they don't ship within a couple days of the 16th (or Amazon actually fulfills my order with them), I'm cancelling and asking for a refund.
