PNY GTX460 1gb Temps High?

Just received my pny gtx460 from newegg and I am wondering about temps?
It is this card

I was just testing the card out and I ran FurMark and It's hitting 100c!!!.Is this what everybody is getting with these cards ? The case is a p-180 with all the fans at 1300 rpm
I'm just wondering if the card is faulty or this is normal operation?

Check the voltage using msi afterburner. It should not hit 100c. These cards ship with various voltage levels, so perhaps yours was set too high.

My GTX460-768 with the same cooler hits about 75C with Furmark.

100c? You probably got either a bad chip, a misplaced heatsink or they just forgot to apply thermal compound completely.

Try with apps you're going to really use. Furmark stresses cards in ways games never would.

Not even, GTX460s are not even supposed to go past 75C @ stock.

If I take the side panel off the temps drop to 82c under full load.This card the exaust is at the back of the card and it pumps alot of hot air into the case my fans cant keep up with amount of heat this is pumping into the case .I tried reversing the intake fan to make it a exhaust and this helped some I don't think its the card its just in a hot area with all the heat its giving off any ideas?

I not to familiar with you case.
Does it have a top exaust,rear exaust and a exaust fan near the power supply at the bottom?

Does it have a front intake fan? It sounds like you not getting proper airflow.

It's beyond improper if he's getting 100C

That's 30+ over load operating temp, and even with his case open, he's still 12C over load temp.

Seems like I have might have it figured out.My case has 2 exhaust fans and one intake fan,I have a corsair h50 on the cpu so I had the top exaust fan as a intake fan and the back as a normal exaust fan and a intake fan in the front of the case.Well with my old 5830 that card exausted out the back so the intake fan was working fine for that card but the new card the intake fan was blowing the hot air exausted out of the back of the card right back into the fan shroud.So I ended up removing the intake fan and making the top fan and rear fan exaust and it seems to work fine now .Temps are 46c idle and 72c load .I usually resort to sending the card back as my last resort

Thats exactly what I was getting at. My setup is almost the same as your now, Except i have 3 intake and 4 exaust good job. Top is exaust and rear exaust.

I knew there was something wrong with the airflow, when temps dropped, when you took the sides off the case.
