and if you search this forum you can find how to build a .ceid file to not need pogoplug and use this as a micro file server... it's not real fast, but it's low power and always there for shared stuff around the home network...

I have one of these. It is a cheap Sheeva plug. It is easy to install Arch Linux on it and have a low power linux server.

Have the pro unit. I mounted my network shares and now have access to them from he desktop software, web software, phone app, and as mounted drives on any machine anywhere. Not the fastest device in the world, but works good!

Actually the cheapest was the Seagate Dockstar, which was a PogoPlug. It was on Woot! for $20.

I think these are performance limited due to the USB interface for the drives.
