Just got an email from pointclick that said they fixed the problem that people were having with the reimbursement form. I just filled it out and it worked fine for me. Check it out.

Thank you for your information xxxxxxx.

We have great news...Onvia.com has decided to stay with PointClick as a

Two problems.
1. Supposedly you need to go to Onvia through PointClick but Onvia is presently not available for click-through. OTOH, it's on the reimbursement page and there have been cases where reimburements were approved without going through PointClick first.
2. Is the 10% discount still available. I sumitted an reimburement yesterday morning while Onvia was still present. There was a note next to Onvia that said the 10% discount was not available and I didn't get it.

Back around 3 months ago when the whole 64mb gts deal for like 290 was around I went on the list for a backorder, also went to point click later on for the 10%. Well after waiting 2 months, I canceled the card, but my $32.04 check from point click came in today. What should I do?

A while back ago, I made a couple pointclick purchases that were backordered. I canceled them and still got checks. Now I guess pointclick got smarter. They now take your credit card #, and if you cancel or return something, they take the money back. I don't know if they will actually do it, so in my opinion, cash it....and pray
If they do take it back...oh well...at least you didn't loose anything. Just email them so that they give you your surfing credit back, if you used any. I found their customer service to be quite friendly.

Abusing the Pointclick site will make it less likely that vendors will participate and more likely that they will fold. I know that ethics are anathema to many on the Hot Deals forum, but you should cancel the rebates you recieved; I assume they charge your card for the amount of the no-longer-applicable check.

I was wondering if Pointclick will still honor the 10% cash-back deal for orders placed while Onvia wasn't on the list of accepted merchants. In my case, I made an order the day before Onvia was taken off and I missed out on the 10%. This is WONDERFUL news if I can get the 10%.

I agree wholeheartedly Olorin. Abusing a great "deal" like the 10% back from Pointclick by not dealing with the squarely (e.g. not returning checks for returned purchases) contributes to the chances of losing it. If the Pointclick rebate goes away, it's likely to cost everyone more overall than a few measly extra checks.

Even if you say that its Pointclick's responsibility to catch these errors themselves, Pointclick might end up agreeing and start spending more money to protect itself. All of a sudden that 10% rebate is a 5% or less and/or the fee for sending the check goes from $1 to $3 or more.

Encourage Pointclick's rebate program by working with them.

BTW, just a lurker on a soapbox - no affiliation with Pointclick other than a customer looking forward to his first rebate check. Missed the minimum by ~$.50 last month :-o.

Pointclick is back up WITH Onvia as one of its merchants.

S - If you are concerned about that maybe forward the e-mail to the address you used for Pointclick, and once that's done make sure you make it look like an original e-mail, as opposed to a forward. Then send it off. I think you'll be fine, I doubt they'll check that deeply and care that much.

I don't think you have to click through the pointclick site to make purchases that qualify for rebates. I certainly didn't see any mention of this on their site. Just bought a case from OnVia yesterday, filled out the rebate form today, and had $9.20 added to my "pending rebate check."

Here are the details the list for claiming a reimbursement:

PointClickers will now enjoy 10% cash back on everything purchased on The PointC1ick Network (sites that are specified as reimbursement sites). That's in addition to any Merchant discounts, promotions and cash earned from surfing PointClick! Here's how it works:

Purchase a product from a participating Merchant site in The PointClick Network.

Complete and submit a reimbursement form.

Forward the confirmation e-mail from the Merchant showing that you indeed purchased the item to confirm@pointc1ick.com or fax it to 801.760.0688.

Receive any reimbursement money you are eligible for PLUS the 10% cash back in a check.

I dunno--does "from a patricipating Merchante site in the PC Network" mean I have to click THROUGH their site, to the retail site, then make the purchase? Very vague, very ambiguous. What a horribly, horribly documented site.

Bah.

It is not ambiguous at all. Pointclick is not going to get credit for the referral unless you use their link. Where exactly do you think the 10% discount is coming from? Whether pointclick specifies this in their TOS or not is irrelevant - anyone who has shopped online knows that this is how it works. The fact that pointclick has chosen to reimburse people who did not use the link in the past does not mean that they will continue to do so in the future.

I believe you don't need to use the same email address for your PointClick account and Onvia.com account, as long as you use that email address you provided to PointClick to forward your receipt. (this is only my assumption.)

Uhh Krunk, that means the Onvia and Pointclick e-mail addresses DO have to be the same. When you make your order Onvia sends an e-mail. You then send confirmation to Pointclick. As you said, the e-mail address you send the confirmation from has to be the same as the Pointclick e-mail. DUH!!!

You get around this by changing the email address that Pointclick has for you by going to the members area. Then you can order from onvia using a new email address (and CC#) so that you can use the coupons again.

Regarding whether you need to click through PC for reimbursable purchases. The following is in their Terms of Service. ....../signup/terms.jsp (coundn't provide the complete link because it contains a forbidden word)

<< In order to be reimbursed for purchases, you must make purchases from Web sites within the PointClick Merchant Network after linking to the Web sites through Point Click.com. >>

Again it doesn't mean you won't get reimbursed if you don't link through first.

Also, you do not need to use the same email address. It just makes it easier for PC to process your reimbursement if you do. If you don't you need to include in the forwarded email your email account with PC.

mosedef, just because you received the confirmation in email account A doesn't you can't forward it with email account B.

Ha. It's far from intuitive. Don't be such an ass.

Even if it is specified in the TOS, as someone else has said, it says in numerous spots that all that is necessary is to purchase from Merchants in the Pointclick network. Onvia is in the Pointclick network; it doesn't say I have to access it through the PC page. You cannot post something in your TOS, then fail to mention the click-through requirement anywhere else on your site.

Again, there are four steps they list in a couple different places:

A: There are four steps to making a purchase.

That's it, kids.
