Well, lets see.
I am guessing your at the 333mhz fsb 2600+ speeds. That is around 2.1ghz?
The 3200+ will be on a 400mhz fsb and 2.2ghz.
So, the 3200+ will have a 5% clock speed advantage, the 400mhz fsb will be a 16% advantage in bandwidth.
So, you are looking at about a 8% increase in performance with the 100mhz in clockspeed and 400mhz fsb over your current system.
The extra 256KB Cache will definitely increase performance but how much depends on the app. I would say on average a 6-8% increase in performance.
So, you are looking at about a 15% increase in real world performance over what you have now.
If you can get another 100mhz or so from the XP-M that will almost get you a 20% increase in performance over what you have now.
All-In-All, in my opinion, it depends on how much you are paying for the cpu.
15% increase will be noticable. 20% would be better of course. IF you could get 2.4ghz from the XP-M, that would be much more worth the upgrade. That would be over a 25% increase in real performance.
So, whether or not the 15% increase in performance by upgrading to the 3200+ cpu will be worth it is something I can't really say since its your money.
If it was me, I MIGHT do it. But I am really not sure though
I am not sure if any of this scribble helped or not
