How is that ANY different from what insurance companies do today when they decide that treatment is too expensive? At least with Oregon, she had the right to say no thanks, whereas an insurance company would just outright deny/delay the treatment until the patient really does die... How is that choice? That is the real OMGDEATHPANEL!

End-of-life care is important. If you deny access to Hospice counseling during treatment, you are doing a huge disservice to them.

Memory loss? In your earlier thread we pointed out:

They told her treatment would not be effective (would not cure her) but she could have normal pain meds or (if she chose, and jumped through all the required hoops) she could take advantage of Oregon's death with dignity law that citizens voted for.

It's strange for you to be requiring unlimited cost palliative care for a limited-care state plan when last week you were railing against insurers being possibly forced to include a minimum set of features in their plans 5 years after health care reform passes.
