After level 20 it is increasingly hard to catch even the usual 10cp pidgey. It is not uncommon to use up 5 or more balls (even great or ultra balls) to do it.

And yes, for some people it is important to 'catch them all'. There's not a lot of things you can do to gain XP, and XP requirements increase exponentially. Catching any pokemon for the 100th time (for candy or to evolve later) is a significant source of XP.

There is also no rhythm or reason as to why something like a pidgey takes so many and then other high cp things don't. I'm only level 14, but a pidgey can be a 5-10 ball event and then a high level cp is one.

Went for a good pokemon run yesterday. Got a good 20 or so. Funny since one of my coworkers today asked if I was in a certain area and I'm like "probably, I was pokemoning" and he just starts laughing "I thought so". I finally hit level 5. I need to read up more in general on how the whole evolving thing and candy etc works, I was not really planing on getting that far into this but got sucked in.

Another of my coworkers who is most likely into this too has not shown up for work for almost a week and nobody even heard of him. I should maybe check the news... lol.

Mine stopped working for some reason, it was always sketchy on my phone, ex: I can only play if I start it on wifi, then I can go out. Now it just dies as soon as I'm out of wifi range. So I stopped playing.

There is a pokemon right at my work though, so every now and then I can pick it up right from my desk, it just takes about half an hour for the GPS to lock in. I think I need a new phone. But I don't want to buy a new phone JUST for this.

Ran out of pokeballs though. Need to find a pokestop that has wifi. One of my coworkers actually does it while driving, well, she's smart enough to pull over, but still seems a bit too far to me. I'm not enough into it to use gas for the game.

Overall I think the game will die down through winter though, maybe pick back up in spring, or people will forget. Hard to tell. If they're smart they'll launch some kind of update in like May to get people back into it.

First day of the year where it's nice enough out to walk and I have a new phone so Pokemon Go works on it now, it had stopped working on my old one. Only would work on wifi.

Caught a bunch of pokemon today. Finally hatched that egg that's been sitting for almost a year lol.

I saw some people possibly playing, so definitely still going, but it's peak was probably when it first came out as it was a cool and new concept, then novelty probably wore off. This is mostly a seasonal game too, I don't think many play in winter so a lot of people probably moved on altogether from it. I don't really play it extensively myself, I'm only like level 8. Just something fun to do when I go for a walk. I have a coworker who does it while driving, but it's not really the same not to mention burn a lot of gas for nothing.

while i was digging around drone videos today i saw that someone had rigged one up to his phone and then streamed the phone to his pc and he just sent the drone to all the stops...

How does someone live somewhere that it's just barely nice enough outside to finally be able to go outside?

It has a lot of other perks, like we don't boil to death in summer, We don't get the crazy +30's that some people down south get. It's also a more easy going life, less people, closer to nature etc. But yeah you don't come here for the weather... lot of people do take vacations down south to take a break as the winters can get long.
