Thug cops have always been a problem but it's good that they're finally coming under some scrutiny. Lot of folks sitting behind the protection of the badge that are just there on a power trip. Then they sit and wonder why people don't trust them. The fact that American police forces have become more militarized in recent years hasn't helped the situation.

It's actually kind of scary to think of how often this probably happens off camera.

Nice to see that this particular incident is at least being looked into. Most of the time nothing happens. Not that administrative leave is much. If a civilian was doing this he/she would be charged with battery or something similar. Cops should not be able to disobey the law.

Apparently the kid tried to start something a few years ago but his lawyer went AWOL. If you believe what he says, it took him a while to track the lawyer down and obtain the tape.
