Thats interesting. I was wondering how a robot like that could sneak up on someone. I would think future negotiations in similar scenarios would be difficult if you cant trust the cops are acting in good faith. Although I'm not sure what the shooter thought he could negotiate, as his lot had been cast when he started his spree. I kinda think the only way the robot thing would work is if the shooter is crazy enough to think there is some way to get out of it.

If he had surrendered peacefully, I do think he would have been taken into custody and not killed.

CNN did a short piece on it earlier. They, apparently, put the 1 lb of C4 on a $150k (?) robot, then put the C4 up against a wall the shooter was standing behind, and set it off.

So if you have served your country as a serving military person. Then become badly ill (mentally etc), I tend to feel sorry for them, As well as the innocent VICTIMS.

It is just SAD all round.

Also I wonder if it leaked out on purpose with the aim of quieting down possible rioting/unrest etc.
Because the on purpose blurred/pixelated section, may imply it was released (un)officially.

Or a policeman who is VERY annoyed that five of his colleagues have been slaughtered like that. Decided to leak it and/or used their cell/mobile phone to take the pictures. As you say, it would be interesting to know the source of the leak.

At the time it was a TEXT news article (probably from the BBC) which I skimmed through. But after your post, I've seen some of the videos (or brief tempters to make people watch the real TV program in the US).

As regards the possible him "sexually harassing a female colleague", some of the comments in such news stories are saying they think it might be a smear campaign. So I don't know for sure, who is right.

My interpretation, is that the big/massive changes his mother had seen with him, "could be", signs of serious mental illness. But I could easily be wrong.

They have had bots developed for the military all ready for a decade that can fire full auto weapons accurately even at long range and be pretty much autonomous.

There are always bugs of course and they have not been used moving around on the ground. Yet.
