Polish for plexyglass case

I just made a plexyglass case, and it has some scratches around it and overall just needs polished. Does anyone know a good way to polish plexyglass, and maybe clean up some of the scractches?

The product you want to use is called "Novus Plastic Polish" There are two products you should get from them: "Novus Plastic Polish #2" is for removing scratches, haziness, and abrasions. After you have applied that, then use "Novus Plastic Polish #1". #1 is an anti-static liquid you apply, then buff off. These products are awesome. The easiest place to find them is in your better Tropical Fish stores, used for Plexiglass tanks. If you can't find it locally, call 1 800 548-6872.

That product will certainly work, but is much more aggressive than you probably need. It uses a type of sandpaper which is good for deep scratches, but not neccessary for fine scratches. It doesn't look like it incorporates a product for anti-static puposes like Novus has (very important for computer use).


I bought Novus in bulk from a wholesaler many years ago, so I don't know the current retail price. If I had to guess, I'd say it is probably around $8 for an 8oz. bottle of each.

I have never used those products, but I do know you should only use a soft T-shirt like rag with plain water or a very mild soap solution to clean plexy. Never use Windex, or other glass cleaners as they will haze. jm.02

Does anyone have any(even partial bottle) of novus 1 and 2 solution they would sell? BTW..I found the stuff on ebay cheaper, but looking for cheaper yet.

Also, at my highschool I am building a supermileage car(kind of like those solar power cars, but instead uses a gasoline engine) and we used a lexan window, would this solution clean that as well?

Yes, works great on Lexan. It believe it works for all plastics, fiberglass, and some painted surfaces. I collect classic Italian road bicycles. I use it for restoring the paint on the frames. It's a great product!
