Well, it shows me as an anarchist/communist, or whatever -6.-6 is. I however, think that the strongly agree/agree and disagree options should be eliminated. To me, If you agree, then you strongly agree. If you are a fence sitter, then they should have an I'm not sure option. I chose strongly agree/disagree for all my answers.

The US primary option shows that I"m to the left of Kucinich and Gravel, but I think that they are both wackos who are out of touch, and I don't agree with a lot of what they say. Its fair enough to say that the compass is fatally flawed.

The economic portion is pretty bad.

Basically:
Right = corporatism
Left = Socialism

It basically asks things like:
"Do corporations know best for all?"

There's no answer for capitalism.

I come out very very close to dead center.I suppose that some of my *extreme* views on other side of things balance (or cancel) each other out.

1 to the left and almost 2 down. Hmmm, I had some trouble answering some of the questions as in the wording was (usually) or (mostly) - (sometimes) ... I mean some could go either way. Sure there are times when sometimes an extreme action is taken. I think some questions were not cut and dry yes or no questions. I noticed that if you scroll down and look at where bush stands, (tho, I really don't think ... bush took this test) rather some of the questions were formed from bush's answers.

Anyway, as far as the test goes... I guess I lean a bit more to the left.

Tho, I knew religious and abortion / gay rights questions would come up in this test. I believe that they should not have since... well, faith should be separated from politics. Sad state of affairs.

I don't see those issues as 'faith' and not 'political' issues. Don't atheists have views on them? Do all 'people of faith' agree on them?

You can take other issues, too, and call them 'faith' issues. Isn't social spending to help the poor linked to faith in the teachings to help the poor? How about war and thou shalt not kill?

In fact, take gay rights for example: I think it has a lot more to do with general ignorance and bigotry than with 'faith'. Has a person become informed is the main question.

It is "Though shall not murder" War isn't murder. Just thought I would point that out.

I'm closest to The Dalai Lama in this compass test.

I think the test was too secular in nature and too rediculous in its questions. Who is deciding what is good and what is bad, what is right and what is left?

Liberal seems to have a different meaning today than it did 30 years ago.

Overall I was pretty close to the middle.

The test assumes people always think of things from a secular or a political point of view. People are much more subjective. Also polls or questions do not always predict how people will act. Take a marketing class and you will understand this.

Left/libertarian

Pretty much spot on with Ghandi. That's fairly accurate for how I feel, although I would have expected to be a bit more libertarian on the social scale. And FWIW, having read this this thread, my score seems to be the mode. I'm surprised to not see more right/libertarian rankings posted.

Definitely some wackjob questions on this quiz - especially the religion section. That had pretty much nothing to do with any religious issues.
