As you can see in this forum, politics talk can quickly escalate from ' my team is better than your team .' to ' shut the fuck up, wise and beautiful woman '.

So, I think politics is best to be left out of the work place.

I have a few like minded people that I speak to about politics at work - I simply walked by their cubes and did my celebratory happy dance. Words need not be spoken to share our enthusiasm

Pictures & victory signs might be going a little too far. Singing "nyah nyah..." to the tune of the Smurfs... maybe off the clock at 7:45 (if you "officially" start at 8)

Given the division in our countries politics I think you would stand to lose more than you would gain by doing this.

It's something that should be a non issue given the act shows respect and admiration for the Pres, so it probably depends on your workplace and especially your Boss.

I don't bring up politics at work. I won't even wear my I Voted sticker.

I wish people would STFU in the workplace about politics; all I've heard yesterday were complaints about Obama and all I've heard this morning so far was people bitching about Obama winning and how the world is going to hell.

I try not to discuss politics or religion in the workplace. It opens up too many opportunities for people to get pissed off at each other, which doesn't need to be brought into the workplace.

Anyone gloating over an obama win would have to be a moron. Their job, or at least their hours, are surely next to be on the chopping block. In a country where population has risen by millions in the last 4 years, we still have fewer full time workers now than we had 4 years ago. That trend will continue, and intensify. 4 years from now, we could be missing as many as 5 million full time workers. But as long as the number of part time workers goes up by 7 million, the media will be praising obooma for creating an incredible 2 million jobs! And the sheeple are just dumb enough to not understand who the media is serving by promulgating that nonsense.

The only thing worse than politics in the workplace is politics on facebook if you have lots of family on there.

By demonstrating how a simple discussion of politics in general inevitably devolves into a soapbox for insult-tinged rants, you have perfectly exemplified why politics should not be discussed in the workplace. Thanks!

On a related question, can I ask my BiL for the "01-21-13" bumper sticker he has had on his pickup (next to the McCain-Palin one) for the past three plus years?
