From your point of view. I was going to ask from a 16 year old point of view but better put it wider. So what is the number of years that you would want between you and your girlfriend/boyfriend/Wife/Husband.

From my view ( I am 16), 3 years.

Many girls my age are very immautre. It's a huge turn off.

I think that how you feel on this subject also depends upon the age difference between your mother and your father. I'm 33. My dad is 72, my mom 61. My g/f is 7 years younger than I am (however, I believe that's the limit).

I would not want to be in a long-term relationship with a girl who (for example) is 18 or 19, since most (not all) girls that age are vapid, insecure, and very shallow.

I'm 19, the youngest I would consider would be 18 but I would probably date someone up to around age 22. My current girlfriend is 20 and that doesn't look to change anytime soon.

Since you're at 16, I think that you'd be best sticking with a year/year and a half max age difference. You say that you're willing to go for a 3 year difference, does that mean you'd be willing to date a 13 year old? I would think that most would say that's really stretching it.

I put down no more then 7 years. I'm 18 but that does not mean I'd date a girl that was 11! It means about 25yr old girl.

Obviously the age gap becomes less of an issue the older the both of you are. But at this moment in time I would "possibly" date a 15yr girl but definatelely not have any sexual thing with her until she turned 16 (age of consent in England). But it would have to be one hella girl though, all the right qualities that I would be looking for.

I'm not so bothered about girls ages though. As long as they are mature enough, fun and the type of peson I like thats is.

I can't believe no one has brought up the minimum dating age formula....
(your age) / 2 + 7 = minimum dating age (with an error of approx one year).
so if you're 16 then the minimum dating age is 8+7 (+ or - 1) = 14-15 years old

This formula gives good results for all but the extremely young and the extremely old, for example:
25 years-old: 13 + 7 (+or- 1) = 19-21 is the minimum dating age

If we're going to *assume* that age breeds experience, i.e. that an 18-year-old girl acts like an 18 year old and a 25-year-old woman acts like one, then I'd prefer one that's at least 21.

Why would ANYONE want to date a 13 year old girl? (or guy, for that matter? Have you seen how 13 yoear olds act? Even at 16, how could you stand to be around them for more than 5 minutes...
