I do find it disturbing that many people claim not to be racist but still refer to a certain race as "them" people...or even use stereotypes ot judge people.

I see a lot of posts on here regarding the poor and letting them suffer. It is quite obvious that the majority of the poor are minorities and more than likely the person who will let them suffer is not.
Yet, they will still say "I'm not racist"?

The majority of people living in poverty in the US are white.

While a larger % of blacks per capita, are living in poverty, a larger TOTAL number of whites live in poverty.

And I have NEVER said "let them suffer." I have advocated letting charity help them rather than allowing them to be entitled to taxpayer funds... just as it was prior to LBJ's failed "Great Society" program in the mid 60s.

Of course the majority of the people are white...duhhh, but you can not use that as an example...it is not fair it's like saying the majority of people living in Africa are black (see what I mean.).

No, I do not see what you mean. His implication was that people who are against welfare are racist, because "a majority of poor people are minorities." That is simply untrue. The overwhelming majority of people living in poverty in the US are white.

Sure it is....especially when you are not DIRECTLY affected by it.

When you are directly affected by it, it may not be funny, but it is no less absurd.

Well, since I'm mediterranean I get enough flak from people. Everytime I fly, I get harassed.

Oh yea, and I forgot, only whites can be racist.

When you look at the percentages of each minority population that is poor, that is more practical. In addition look at the number of minorities in prison verses those that are in colleges or look at the percentage that owns their own home as another comparison.

Per capita numbers broken down by race are irrelevant for this debate. As I said, your implication was that people against welfare are racist. That is an impossibility considering the fact that the vast majority of people living in poverty are white.

At any rate, not a single libertarian minded person I know has those political beliefs because they are racist. Get a clue, OK?

It is not irrelevant because you are talking about a huge amount of minorities when you talk about the poor. Just because the white race is dominant does NOT mean you exclude Mexicans or Blacks when we talk about poor people because you are talking about a higher percentage of their population here in the US.

I'm racist in that I avoid areas where certain minorities are the majority if the area is known as being "a bad area". I don't go out of my way to avoid these minorities in a diverse environment, just not where one race dominates 4-1...unless they're whites. And there's plenty of all white neighborhoods I'd avoid as well.

I just prefer to be in diverse environments.

No, we are talking about a snap shot of the poor, and how that snap shot effects people. That snapshot is overwhelmingly white. So if a person was white racist, "punishing" all the poor people would affect FAR MORE whites than it would any other race.

Again, no one I know who is against welfare and other socialist programs has those beliefs because of racism. Not a one.

Nice try, though. But if you really believe that, maybe you should get a clue.

Yes, I think it's funny. I find humor in everything. In fact, most of the time I'm half in the bag when I get to the airport, so it's even funnier because I'm half drunk.

The whites can only be racist comes from the general idea that racism is generally accepted as one sided.
Another absurdity.

The local news stations where I live are racist. The population is 51% black and 49% white/everything else. The thing is that the racist news stations spend 95% of their time talking about the crimes committed by black people, and only 5% of their time discussing the murders, drive by shootings, robberies, and rapes that are committed by white people. Why are the crimes committed by the black people more important than the crimes committed by the white people?
