I agree; stereotypes do exist for a reason. And I think that the naive are the ones who's opinions arent similar to the stereotypes just because it's politcally wrong.

But we know only "Ghetto women" are like that, don't we?

Most of them.

You Yankees and your opinions.

Hey now, I spent over ten years living in the South. I'm more Southern than Midwestern... by a long shot.

You think your sister/mother is hot? I bet she's one special woman.
I'm impressed you and the rest of the NW contingent stopped shooting smack long enough to contribute to this thread.

Hey like shutup and stuff man. I'm gonna go back to drinking my coffee, walking downtown in cargo shorts and flip flops in the rain.

I think Jerry Springer said it best: 'How can you be proud of something you had no control over?' He used this at the end of a show about members of the KKK.

I see how you'd be proud of what your ancestors have done, such as great grandparents, but as a European-American I am not proud of what one of my people, Leonardo Da Vinci, did. I regard him as a great man, and I respect him, but the only way I am proud of him is in admiring what humans are capable of. I feel the same way about Ghengis Khan, a non-European.

Let me understand this, most people are American simply because they were born here. Had they been born in South Africa, they would have been South African. Since you can't be proud of something you had no control over, you shouldn't be proud to be American? I had no control over where i was born.

No, But you DO have some control over your country's state of affairs (if it's democratic).

I'm not racist. I don't judge people based on skin color or stereotypes...etc.

I do find it disturbing that many people claim not to be racist but still refer to a certain race as "them" people...or even use stereotypes ot judge people.

I see a lot of posts on here regarding the poor and letting them suffer. It is quite obvious that the majority of the poor are minorities and more than likely the person who will let them suffer is not.
Yet, they will still say "I'm not racist"?

Just because I was born here doesn't make me an American. If I were born in an airport while my parents were on their way back to germany, that makes me an American? Maybe on paper, but not in my heart. It's what I do with that life that determines who I am. If I go back to Germany and live my life there under their three colors, then I'm German.

I, however, choose to live my life in this great country. My ideals make me an American.

TommyVercetti, I see that as a bit different. Although you had no choice in the matter, you are a member in American society and therefore your whole life have been a part of this system. So you do have reason to be proud.

I don't see why a Mexican-American should be proud of Mexico, if he has only visited there.

Damn JS actually had a good thought. People often say crap like that. Like somebody will say how they're proud of how somebody was in american idol, for instance, though they had no say in the matter. Proudness insinuates that you had control over it. You can be proud of your child, but not proud of how a total stranger saved somebody's life.

And as someone who is constantly around people of hip-hop styles, I can say that I am starting to be racist towards some black people. I understand they're not all like this because I've seen it, but there are tons that are extremely loud, dishonest, aggressive, and sheeplike in their following of what the media tells them to do. Those people piss me off, and yes I discriminate against a guy wearing a huge Fubu shirt, sideways cap, baggy pants, and the newest Nike shoes. Because in my experience, 99% of the time he is a jackass.

That's culturalism, not racism. The hip-hopper you hate is NOT inherently hip-hop. That is a choosen culture.

The majority of people living in poverty in the US are white.

While a larger % of blacks per capita, are living in poverty, a larger TOTAL number of whites live in poverty.

And I have NEVER said "let them suffer." I have advocated letting charity help them rather than allowing them to be entitled to taxpayer funds... just as it was prior to LBJ's failed "Great Society" program in the mid 60s.

Of course the majority of the people are white...duhhh, but you can not use that as an example...it is not fair it's like saying the majority of people living in Africa are black (see what I mean.).

Considering it's one of my favorite movies of all times I should have. I just haven't seen it in awhile so I wasn't 100%. Was actually considering popping it in last night as a matter of fact but I watched a real documentary on Vietnam on the Wings channel.
