Atheist as in BELIEVE THERE IS NO GOD. Agnostic as in doesn't subscribe to a religion but DOESN'T BELIEVE THERE IS NO GOD.

Personally, I'm an atheist. I'd like to get some views from agnostic people.

agnostic, because if you say you're atheist, you're almost required to argue it.

how about an option for the religious folks here?

personally I probably fit under agnostic, though heavily leaning towards atheist. there is no known evidence against the existence of some higher being so I don't want to completely deny the possibility no matter how unlikely.

I was atheist for a long time before I realized that if there is no way to prove there is a god, there is also no way to prove there is NOT a god. So, I don't believe but I'm not ruling out the possibility.

If the universe cannot be created without God, then who created God? Similarly, if God was all knowing, then does he know what he's going to do before he does it?

I don't like any of the religions. I hate organized religion.

I'm open minded. I can't claim with absolute certainty that there isn't some sort of higher being simply off hunches, just like I can't say that there is a God based of questionable ancient texts.

I think you're partly right, however, if god were to show him/her/itself beyond reasonable doubt, then you could prove theism. As a belief it's verifiable but not falsifiable...

First, I'd like to define god as some omnipotent lifeform, and not just some blob that started the universe.

Well, with all the contradictions (like how Christianity said the earth is flat), I tend to believe that it's all crap.

I sincerely doubt in the validity of the Christian god, but sometimes I've found myself wondering, "Could all this really have been a random occurance?" It is what I believe, but sometimes I do doubt myself. Things like the human brain and how it functions, and how our mind works, make me wonder sometimes... Perhaps there is some "creator" of some kind.

Heh, 'Christianity' never said the Earth was flat. Where'd you hear that?

Yeah, it wasn't that they said the earth was flat, it's that they said the sun revolved around the earth. It was charming and cute how they attempted to kill anyone that claimed otherwise.

I am a strict Atheist.

I see it this way

...Reasons to believe in a god...
If there is a god, and belief in such god is a requirement to have a good "afterlife" then it may seem more logical to believe.

...Reasons not to believe in god...
There are 6 senses, none detect the presense of said "god".
No Evidence.

So, the only reason to have belief in any god, at least that I am aware of, is really not a reason to "believe", it's a reason to desire or want to believe. I don't believe things just because I want to believe them. I believe things that are facts, I believe things that seem to fit logic. I don't believe things that would be nice to believe in, but don't present any real actual reasons beyond that.

I don't consider that to be "closed minded" as I gave several hours of thought into my decision to abstain from the Church back in 1988 when I was 8 years old.

I am playing the odds, I think that they are very strongly in my favor. Not that it makes any difference though.
