I would have voted for the EPoX board until I saw the potential GF4 problem over at HardOCP, so I'm going with the Dragon.

I have a Dragon+ but after alot of pain and suffering I found out it doesnt like crucial memory (aka micron memory)

Interesting. My friend Neil built a pc on that mobo with Fry's generic memory and couldn't even get the O/S to install. He swapped it out for Crucial and now it runs like a raped ape. The Fry's memory tested good on their test bench too.

Soltek....

incredible price at NCIX.com for 154 bucks Canadian funds.. that absolutely rocks for such a good board, with a great software bundle and all...
the board itself kicks more than enough arse... rock solid, fast, and good overclocking.... best KT266A board.

Definitely the Soltek and I was going to get the SL75DRV4 until decided to get a Northwood system instead of an AMD system so I got the Soltek SL-85DR-C instead.

Soltek is a great brand - they make rock solid boards with cool features all at great prices, plus they provide software bundles which are actually usefull.

Honestly? People are just gonna vote for what they have, it's impossible for any favorites to emerge.

There are to many to chose from dude, for the most part they all work within 2 to 8% of eachother in terms of speed so their more or less equal. The Soltek is by far the best deal price wise, and the Asus is the best in terms of quality. Most people prefer Asus over Abit any day.

I would vote for the Soyo Dragon Plus, tho i do not have one, im still on a kt133A board, and for the money that i dont have will probably build my next system on an ECS board with the sis 735 chipset. But of all the boards i have read about in my research the soyo and the soltek both seem to be excellent boards. Of course, the black pcb and the purple pci slots on the Dragon just look too cool for me

I think it would be more accurate to say people will vote for what they have experience with. I do not own any of those boards, but I have experience with the Dragon and EPoX boards thru friends that have them.

Soltek SL-75DRV2. This has never, run at stock speed. Great software bundle and a ton of tweakable option. Oh wait, great price too!

I dunno about you guys, but the $109 AK35GTR offers better features than the soyo, its just lacking the overclockability, software, and black PCB the soyo has. Now is that worth the extra $33?

AK32GTR lacks the overclockability?? I believe it's a better overclocker than the Dragon, I don't think the Dragon has DDR voltage options, they might have added it in a BIOS revision, but I consider it a pretty important OC feature. The AK32GTR also has one more PCI slot, as well as ATA133 RAID. Save the LAN, I believe the the AK32GTR is a better deal, I dont think the Dragon is worth the premium. The 8KHA+ is a very good low cost option, it's a no-frills board but it has all the features an OCer needs. One other board people overlook a lot is the MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU, comes packed with some nice extras like USB2, and it's also one of the lower priced KT266As, but nobody looks at MSI anymore. A7V266-E and KR7A are overpriced and overrated as usual. Soltek is also a very interesting offer that I personally like.

I like my MSI K7T266 also, but it can't overlcock as well as my shuttle ak31. Both my AK31A and K7T266 run rock stable without a hickup.

LXi is correct, I'm voting for the mobo that I own. But that's because I thought it was the best when I bought it -- and have had no reason to change my mind.
