POLL BEST KT266A BOARD!

I guess I'll put in a vote for the 8KHA+, since I own one, and it's been rock solid for me. I've used an AK31 before and wasn't too impressed (well, it was DOA ) and I've previously owned the KT266 Soyo Dragon, which I loved cept for the limited overclocking options and the FSB/USB problems that some KT266 chipsets had. Two of my friends own MSI 266A boards, which I found to be alright, but I like my Epox better, mainly since I like the debugging codes for the Epox better than the way MSI does it with the D-Bracket or whatever, and I like the 6th PCI slot.. just in case. Heck, I'm using four of mine now, and with one basically not useable since my GF2 is in the way.. I'm quite happy I have a little more expandability in case I wanna go SCSI or something.

I like my Epox. Not sure if it is the best or not. Depends on what features you are looking for.

Although not a *True KT266 board, it did rate as high as the EPOX when it was used to it's full potential

I just got done building a AMD XP 1800+ w/ Epox 8KHA+, 256mb PC2100 DDR. For my brother since he don't know much about building them. All I can say is I was shocked on how stable and fast the system runs. I installed Quake3 arena to see how many FPS I could get with the maxed out settings. I got a stable 93.6fps at 1024x768 with only a 64mb Kyro2 video card. Never got to bench mark the sysmtem yet but I will that's for sure.

I'm going to build a system like this when I get my tax refund back. Which should be in about 2 maybe.

If pure performance, stability, and OC capability are the only concerns without regards to price, then its going to be the Abit KR7A.
But for the best price/perfromance/stability balance, then its going to be the Epox 8KHA+.

This "poll" doesnt really tell who takes the cake or who's the best. All it really says is that there are more Epox owners than say, MSI owners. I know there are people that vote by their experience, but still the majority of the votes come from ownership.

Yep but still nice to see Abit is 2nd place by the owners I am surprised the Asus is third behind Abit.
But thats ok. 2nd place is fine with me.

How so? Asus has onboard RAID too, so does MSI, Soyo and Shuttle.

After a horrible experience with a defective Epox 8KHA+, I went with the Soltek. I can honestly say that I love the board - rock stable, overclocks like a champ (although I'm currently at stock), and the features/layout really went well with my case and setup. My brother has the Abit, but I find my Soltek to be just as good (if not better - it has some cool options that the Abit doesn't even have...) and a hell of a lot cheapers, so.....it's sort of a no-brainer. I think the Epox is probably a good board; I just got one that was *very* screwed up, and it left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth.

So....my vote is for the Soltek.

I have a Shuttle AK31 V3.1 (KT266A). Best m/b I've had to date. I'm running a XP 1600 (1400) at 1700+ (1460). I'm sure it could go much futher though.....just havn't explored it yet

While true, in a sense, I consider the Abit my favorite not because I purchased it, but purchased it because it was my favorite! After all why would I purchase a board I didn't like.

My 8KHA+ runs solid as a rock. No problems whatsoever. I must admit it's the best board I've ever gotten.
