Mammoth Video ~ DVD club

Cheaper and Mammoth doesn't edit their movies to make them more family friendly.

Please link to some proof of that happening to DVDs (besides not carrying above R and years ago editing VHS)

We do the instore BB deal, 2 movies, pick up instore, unlimited time out.

Works best for us, immediate gratification of the store trip (1/2 mile away), and no late fees.

asking us how long it takes is pointless since it depends on how close you are to a distribution center. for me NF has one in Salem so i got 1 day each way. BB has one up in Tacoma so it was 2 days each way. NF has more DC's out there so it's a better chance that they will be closer but not always. i got tagged as a frequent user at netflix and i've never even burned one. i just watch dvd's instead of TV so things have gone from 2 days up to 3-4, which realy blows. BB probably does the same thing.

That would have to be Netflix.

Walmart is a bunch of holy rollers who pulled FHM and Maxim mgs off the shelf because it offended some trailer park heifers.

Blockbuster will not because it does not want to endanger losing uptight anally repressed families in the Bible Belt.

Netflix will because they will lose market share and it does not have the B&M presence to shore up running in the red. It will do so whenever Amazon enters the fray.

Also, if you search around there are smaller online rental places that do offer XXX titles.

Where's the option for I don't have either and I don't care. I'll rent my movies locally.

Why's that?

i think that's what happened to me. it went from a 1-2 day turnaround to 4-5 days. thats how they keep their stocks available.

same here and we don't have a blockbuster close enough to matter, so it'll be netflix for us for a long time

I don't know if I buy the "frequent user" business about Netflix. I typically return my movies the following day, and the turntime remains about 1 day. (the distro center is in Tacoma) With both the 3 at a time and 5 at a time programs I haven't noticed any hampering of my rental throughput, aside from the usual holiday postal slowdowns. I also rent very few new releases, and as I understand those tend to ship a little slower than the older movies.

yea, if it weren't for netflix bb would still be screwing its customers ... well.. its still doing it, just having a harder time at it. i won't support that bastard of a company. its screwed people with late fee's and other shifty stuff in the past, its censored movies, it had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the world of wide screen.. bah.

what is the method of shipping for both? if it is usps then they are worthless to me. for some reason usps will NOT deliver packages to my apartment. every time they leave the slip that says come pick it up at the post office. that alone would make it not worth it.

Netflix is usually faster for me. But I decided to stay with Blockbuster because they give me two free coupons every month (good for movies/games)

I just signed up for Blockbuster, and just got my first 3 DVDs today after they shipped on Tuesday. 2 days, and they come from Chicago to Kentucky.

I hate that when Netflix receives my movies in the morning, they don't ship them out until after 4pm that same day. Adds an extra day to the turnaround time. :|
